It’s why they play so many games
You're right. Like how we were 13-17 in 30 conference games last year.

I don’t mind the hideous back-to-back batters hit by a journeyman pitcher that you know you won’t be leaning on in big games/series in the future. February is about finding out who you can count on.
With that said, getting no-hit at home on the weekend by a bad team through 8 2/3 has to set off some alarm bells as to the offensive expectations this year.
This wasn’t one or two bad pitchers ruining a game, this was our entire starting batting order getting mowed down by a U of Omaha arm.
WAY too many bad and unprofessional ABs too. It’s one thing to be smashing the ball and have bad luck. This really hasn’t been the case. Too many K — several looking at Strike 3 — and too many players without power trying to elevate balls and hitting weak cans of corn. There’s just no pressure being applied by this lineup that you can be confident in right now.

I do think guys like Jones, Milam, Brown, Larson have a floor we can expect them to play up to. But the hitting so far has been troubling and does clearly look like the weak spot of the team yet again for the second straight year.
Last year, it was clear (and Jay admitted it) that we could only produce when Tommy, Bear etc were hitting HRs. We could not string enough hits together consistently to count on a consistent offense.
This year, there’s even less power than a year ago but unfortunately it has not been replaced with more consistent hitting from the early sample size.
LSU still lacks a table setter. Curiel has ability but he will have freshman ups and downs. Bear will get pitched around a lot in big spots because as of now there’s nobody to protect against that inevitability.
We needed Larsen, Brown and Milam to take a step forward this season and I still think that’s going to be the key to this team’s success.
Catcher needs to sort itself out and hopefully someone emerges and clearly takes command of that job. Dickinson looks like a starting caliber player but nothing that makes you feel he will be a cog in the heart of the order.
Braswell is a limited and streaky hitter with a long loop swing that will produce a lot of weak contact and fly outs because he lacks real power. Stanfield is a career .275 hitter which is fine for a good defensive CF but he looks like a bottom of the order guy too.
Setting realistic expectations for this team. I think we have some depth and a lot of tools. But I don’t see that the offense will improve, especially losing Tommy who you could at least count on to be a dude. Where are the dudes?

unacceptable in baseball.
I love the “unacceptable” argument. Get ready for about a hundred more “unacceptable” moments in that case. Are we may very well end up in Omaha anyway. Prolly “unacceptable” a few times there also.

Sky is definitely not falling.
If you put things in perspective. LSU gave up 5 runs in one inning. LSU “Lost” 1 inning.
The real issue was simply that the bats were dead for that game, against inferior pitching.
They bounced back in game 2. They will be just fine

What a shocker. You are finding something to cry like a bitch about.

No I gave a breakdown of realities that this offense is facing
If you interpret that as just someone aimlessly trying to bitch then maybe chatboard discussions aren’t your thing

But they turned around 2 hours later and pounded 13 hits and 12 runs on the same team so yes your vagina is bleeding about one game

No, you took two mediocre games at the plate, at the beginning of the season, in less than ideal conditions, and then decided to apply that to the rest of the season.
You are a cry baby bitch. You are the Pirate King of LSU baseball. A total moron.

False.
I outlined far more than just the results of two games.

Yankees outscored the Pirates 55-27 in the 1960 World Series. Always thought that was a super crazy stat.
Pirates won the series 4-3.
Pirates won the series 4-3.
