I really hope Dennis takes another big step in progressing his game this year (as he did last year). If he can lock down the 3 than we would be very tall and very athletic along the front line with Harris-Warren-White. That would be an ideal situation this year, and would let younger guys like Derenbecker and Turner grow slowly and get used to the pace of college ball.

What if I do have a man-crush on him?
Posted on 10/8/10 at 8:49 am to joechristoppher77
Also you direct your comments towards me bc you don't like that I don't think derenbecker will be a good player. Bc I didn't start the tantrums and I didn't start the cussing. So quit being a little bitch

Just about every actual coach disagrees with you on Derenbecker. He's basically dominated at every level of basketball -- 1a, 5a, AAU. He can shoot, run the floor, pass better than anyone on our team last year, and has a great basketball IQ (I hate that term). Not to mention he's 6-6 or 6-7.
By the way, you type like a goddamn idiot.

I've met zero. Nothing has changed, I guess.

I'm on my phone. It's not easy typing on this. And what you have a man crush on elleshoe now? He just said that.
I'm done arguing with you people. This will be revisited after season starts

Another good thread turned into a pissing match.
I look forward to seeing this team play. I'm not expecting a tournament appearance this year, but I'll just be happy to see some good basketball. Last year was atrocious and hard to watch.
I, too, think the loss of Spencer will help. This year will mainly depend on how well our freshmen step up.
Does it look like Stringer will be the starter day one? Who starts at the two? Ludwig redshirting?
Stringer/Bass/Populist
Turner/Dotson (injured)
Harris/Derenbecker
Storm/Courtney/Ludwig
White/GG/Del Piero
I guess Stringer will have to play some SG as well.

I am hoping stringer, Turner, and Derenbecker win the starting spots. With an absolute joke of an out of conference they can learn on the fly.

I don't think Derenbecker will but who knows. I'm guessing the starters for game 1 will be
Stringer
Dodson
Harris
Warren
White
with opportunities for a lot of minutes from the 2 you listed.

Unless Bass makes major improvement, Stringer is the starter by default.
Derenbecker will play some 2.
A player or two will redshirt, likely Dotson or Courtney.

I might have to eat some crow about Trent's recruiting the last 2 years if DD's read this morning is true. Next week 6ft 9in 235 lbs center Johnny O Bryant from MISS to sign with LSU. DD says he is 38th rated player in nation.

if trent trusts turner and matt D then i would love to see dotson take a year off and try and get his knee right.

I'd be really shocked if that happened S.....

I just hope Johnson starts J. Lee.....

He messed it up his Senior year. It's still not ok?
I consider his freshman year a wash. No way you can judge his performance based on last year. I still expect him to be a solid player, especially considering how high TJ was on him out of high school. I was hoping he'd be healthy this year.

yeah me too, i think he can still be a good player on this team. he is still having problems because he re-aggravated it over the summer and had a minor operation. should be ready by now but his offensive game requires a lot of explosion off the bounce which he didn't have last season. he still has three full seasons to play though, lot of time for him to get right and i agree he's going to be an asset on both ends of the court eventually.

I directed a comment towards you because if you ever have any desire to coach your athletic director will not want or tolerate you being on a discussion board acting the way you are. The whole someone else started it line just goes to further show how immature you really are and have no business ever coaching till you grow up alot. The internet tough guy routine is a bit old... your best bet is to delete all posts you have made that outline your immaturity
