The whole crowd is clueless when it comes to cheering during a basketball game.

It might be the worst student section in the power 5 conferences. Only the first four rows cheer. Everyone else plays in their phones. In the entire second level of the student section is empty.

Makes me want to vomit. I don't know how to fix the problem.

This is def true. Lots of people there who don’t even know what they’re watching.

I looked over when Ole Miss was making the 2nd half run and the little babies were standing up with clueless faces making no noise. Might as well sit down.
Have they no idea? We really need to pay people to demonstrate fandom.

It's a problem at a lot of places where it's not that schools primary sport or the configuration of the arena doesn't lend itself to a great spectator experience. The PMAC is outdated and doesn't give the fan a feel of being on top of the action like a lot of other arenas. However, our fans could still get more into the game. The student turn out is pathetic.

Another shite on students thread. Yeah it sucks, but everyone there is complete shite not just us. People always gotta complain about something, I swear 50% of y’all live your entire lives in misery always having to complain about something or make comments.
We need to stop having 11:00 am and 6 pm games. Leaves not a lot of time for pre drinking. Esp if you get off at 5:00 in BR traffic trying to make a 6:00 pm game. Not saying it will help much but I’m hopeful some 7:00-8:00 pm games would help. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking

All dictated by tv
when you expect your team to dominate, and they do, there is nothing exciting about that. that arena will only get loud against teams who also dominate their opponent.
Our opponents have become nothing more than cupcakes. It's boring.

Very true. I honestly think too this fan base is recovering from the most amount of partying ever done in a single football season
They are absolutely pathetic. Refs were right by the section after Wade got the technical during the timeout and not a peep from the students towards the ref. Only started to boo when the ole Miss guy went to the line.
Other schools student sections would have been all over them. Sad that the refs can take shelter over by the students in a heated moment.

What sucks is the sections they’re in. Need to be moved back to half court and that would change everything

shut up with this. They were put behind the basket because they never showed up when they were on the sidelines..... Not since the Shaquille O'Neal days.
why give prime seating to entitled Priklcks who don't show up when you can put paying customers in those seats?
You want sideline seats motherfukers? show up behind the basket and cheer your arse off and then maybe someone will care enough to move you. Quit with the millennial attitude that you deserve something you didn't earn

Jesus dude, calm down.
You're also dead wrong about students not showing up when they were courtside since Shaq. I was a student during the 2006 and 2009 SEC title runs. I left my afternoon class and would line up early to get in the courtside section. It was a blast and students got into it. When the team fell off a cliff, no one showed, and the administration used it as an excuse to move students to open it up to the rich folks willing to pay for season tickets.
That said, this was pre smart phone days for the most part, and certainly before the unlimited social media apps and people with faces in phones. I think that affects the atmosphere across the board at every arena that isn't the true blue bloods.
