i have known about pastner for a long time as does probably anyone my age from east texas. i grew up around the game in the houston area and he coached the houston hoops aau team after his dad, he has a great eye for talent and can recruit, not the greatest bench coach but he's extremely young. i could see him doing well at an smu or UH based on his ability to get kids out of texas amongst other places. will be interesting to see how memphis does in the big east.

I forgot LSU basketball expectations are so low. We do have everyone coming back next year. I'd be shocked if we didn't make the NCAA tourny, and I think we have a shot at a sweet 16 team considering how much we have coming back and that we are getting a recruit that fills a need.

Pastner is growing on me. I want him or Floyd.
If we can't get Smart.
If we can't get Smart.

The guys we have coming back aren't that great though. We have a lot of low IQ players and not many that can shoot.
Morgan can't do it all himself.

I was the first to mention his name. Look at me post.

He could definitely keep the talent in the state and go get guys nearby when he needs to. Everyone says we don't need the best X's and O's guy, just keep the talent we have in Louisiana... Well he sounds like our guy. I also love that he's 34 and got his degree in 2 and a half years. Sure he could use LSU as a stepping stone but the program would probably be in great shape for the next guy.

I just don't think we could get him with Memphis making the move.

About Pastner ? Pretty sure his name hadn't been brought up yet when I first mentioned him. I was actually surprised I hadn't seen his name mentioned.
Didn't realize how young of a team he had last year. 7th youngest in college basketball. Lost to Zona in the 2nd round 77-75.

I just wanted Johnson fired. Let's make that happen first.

Sadly I think he gets another year. What's even more pathetic is that at the beginning of the year I considered that if this team reached the NIT that it would be a "successful" season. Getting to the NIT in your 4th year at a program should never be considered "successful."

Is it bad that I sort of want us to lose to Arkansas?

I'll never root for LSU to lose but I won't be upset. It will make things very interesting.

Search him.
Ah.
I see that Boat first mentioned him in the in game thread today. I first mentioned him in this thread. Im with Boat, I really like this guy. It would take a ton to get him, but I think he could pump some energy into this program.
