re: LSU Basketball - Advocare Invitational Tournament Schedule

CoC returns 2 of their top 3 scorers and 3 of their top 6 players (in accordance with minutes played). They should (or at least could) be a sound mid-major (top 100/fringe top 50 which is very important since it's a neutral site game). We should know a little more about them before the game as they play @ Oklahoma St. 4 days before the tournament officially starts.

FSU is a good team to play because they are generally very athletic and good defensively. The downside is they are notoriously inconsistent. They just as easily could end up being a NCAAT team at the end of the year or missing the NIT. That said, some early NCAAT predictions have them as a top 4-5 seed and many expect them to be a top 25 team to start the year. Assuming they don't dump all over themselves in the first few weeks of the season (same for LSU) a FSU/LSU game might likely be one between two top 25 opponents.

The tournament doesn't look great on paper (at least when compared to the Maui tournament last year). But LSU probably got the best draw, in terms of playing good opponents, it could hope for. A schedule of CoC, FSU, Nova could be 3 games vs. teams who will end the season in the top 50.
