we lost 2 of 3 vs ILL at home

i dont remember how good they were,

Not really good, but not really bad either. I think they made their conference tourney but not the NCAA tourney.

Geeze we still swept CSF.

So what kind of team do we have?

We are on the same side on this one Boat. If we'd played a tougher pre-conference slate, would Ott have saved game 1 against the Gators? Would we have gotten 1 more clutch hit Saturday?

I still don't know, but I would lean towards good/really good more than anything else. Sweeping CSF was huge, because they have a good team. Getting swept by Florida hurt, but they have an unreal pitching staff.

It's tough to judge the Georgia series. I knew going in to Sunday that we would either win both or lose both, because it's tough to split a double header. Especially two sevens.

And we almost won the first 2 games.

Yeah, that's why I'm nowhere close to hitting the panic button. The only thing that really had me worried was the players sleepwalking through the end of the UF Sunday game, and the ULL game. Like I said, the UGa series was too quirky to really draw conclusions.

I agree.

I think there is some turmoil now between the players and Mainieri that will work its way out. Mainieri is pushing some buttons now to see how they will respond.

If LSU played some better teams in the beginning of the year, they'd undoubtedly lose some of them, then most of y'all would be bitching about that and saying we should be scheduling cupcakes to get the teams confidence up. You can't win with some of y'all.

You severely underestimate the stupidity of LSU baseball fans, particularly those that post here.

I agree somewhat with this. I would like to see two maybe three quality series scheduled in the pre-sec schedule with at least one of them being on the road. The pre-sec schedule was horrible this year. I think more quality opponents would do wonders.

Also I don't think many remember exactly how terribly CSF played in that series. Yes we swept them and yes they are a good team, but we definetly didn't get them even close to their best.

You're going to have to play some cupcakes, I understand. I would like to see us play two tough weekend series. CSF...check.

Then I would like to see LSU play one road series as well. It doesn't necessarily have to be against a traditional powerhouse, but something out of state. We didn't do that. I knew LSU would struggle against UGA because we played zero out of state games, and only one game on the road at Alex Box South.

Go play at Arizona State (tempe12.com) or travel to Hawai'i. UT played at Hawai'i and I'm not saying it's going to propel them to Omaha, but if they can travel there, they'll have no problem traveling to Stillwater or Lawrence. LSU needs to get out of their element before SEC play starts so they can be road tested.
