Really. I was expecting us to be ranked lower than 15. I doubt Baseball America has us this high. While we have some good young talent, we are counting on a lot of unproven players this season. Don't expect LSU to get to be getting their usual hype.

This. Kendall Rogers from Rivals.com is not going to have us in his preseason top 25. (Well I'd be shocked)

BaseballAmerica.com should have us right around #20-23.

Sportswriters expected LSU to be better than they were last year and when players such as Dean, Ranaudo, Gibbs left so did the bandwagon sportswriters. The 2011 team is going to be very similar to the 2008 club in how they start off and mold together. By the end of the season Omaha should not be a suprise at all.

To add...the lower the presason ranking the better it is for this young team. The last thing they need is a target on their back early in the season espcially for the newcomers.

I definitely think this team will be much better in April and May than it will at the start of the season. We make take a few lumps at the beginning of the season but that's to be expected.

Moving up 14 spots is a nice even number

15 is extremely generous. we were terrible down the stretch last year, and we lost all of our key guys. we've got a lot of talent coming in, but it'll be next year before we make it back to omaha IMO...would love to be at that new stadium in its first year though...as well as omaha locals

I'm glad people have lowered their expectations this year, it'll make for an exciting one

This year's crop of freshmen arms may be the most talented LSU has ever had. It's certainly one of the deepest

Did you watch the team last year? The pitching wasn't all that great!

Freshman and transfers who have never pitched in the SEC! They are inexperienced!

Can you give an evaluation more in depth than that? Stengths weaknesses of each?

Also a few guys from last year. Ott wasn't near as good last year, and Alsup did so some good things. Other than that LSU has a young, inexperienced pitching staff.

Dude, what do you want me to say? Do you want me to go off what Rivals ranked them and said about them. I've never seen any of the new guys pitch. It takes a special pitcher to walk into a D-1 SEC school and be dominent. Do any of the guys LSU signed have that ability, I don't know!

I like the team we have now. They're young, but have alot of talent. The new bats should benefit the pitchers. If the NCAA let's the ASU seniors transfer and play immediatly it would be awesome if we could pick up any of those guys to take pressure off of the freshmen

We dont need them to be dominant, being average to a little above average is all we need
