so, what exactly happens when you "see a doctor" about bone spurs?

Probably just as a precaution. The only treatment is rehab. Stretching, limited excercise, etc.

bone spurs sounds like an injury for someone over 30 years old imo.

i've heard of people having bone spurs... but most of them had surgery to remove them. was wondering how just "seeing a doctor" fixed it in this case.

I know people who have gotten them in high school. Another term is plantar fasciitis. Usually a long distance runner injury but can be caused by something as simple as wearing an unfamiliar shoe (or this case cleat).

Mainieri said he's really been impressed with Jesse Stallings coming off shoulder surgery. Throwing 92-93. Being groomed as possible closer.

That's what I was hoping for. I got to see him pitch last weekend. He's got live stuff. And it's a perfect role coming off of TJ. Limited pitches per outing and he won't be overworked.

plantar fasciitis

They are frequently associated with plantar fasciitis, a painful inflammation of the fibrous band of connective tissue (plantar fascia) that runs along the bottom of the foot and connects the heel bone to the ball of the foot.

Maybe not interchangeable.

I thought I remembered them being the same thing.

Does stallings have good offspeed pitches? I know he changes speeds very well, but are they very effective pitches?

Saw Stallings in person last Friday. If the board was accurate he came in and threw 90-93 on most pitches. I think 5 straight to Bregman were 92-93 range.
He looked really good I thought.

He's come along very fast since he started throwing 100%. He was about average this fall in the 87-88 range with okay offspeed.

But with the extra zip, his other pitches will be much more affective. None of them stand out particularly though.
