Hence the phrase, "#4 and dropping".

I agree with some of your opinion on rankings, but, show some pride in being ranked #1. Don't make it so easy to take away. I was asked for the most part why I thought something was wrong. The polls are a decent measuring stick, and I used them as an example to take my LSU bias out. In my opinion, we look sloppy and have too many early broadcast trends which need correcting, and I'm not going to argue with anyone over that, because that stems from coaching.

What I dont get is that he looks at the rankings right now to DEFINE us but then turns around and calls the #21 ranked team in the nation aweful.

I was fooled into believing we were a legit #1. I don't recall anyone on the board stating we didn't deserve our ranking.

I think Illinois' ranking is a short term knee-jerk reaction to beating #1 2 out of 3 at home. The bottom 6-7 teams in most top 25 polls of many college sports typically move in and out.

When you see pitching like what Illinois had up close and personal, and compare it to what you see from other teams, its easy to see they will win lots of ballgames and be in most of them.

I expected to be insulted by a couple of punks on the board when I made a negative baseball post.

Let's see how well you know baseball by submitting the number of home and away sweeps, along with total wins, losses, including post season play, and how far these teams will go (LSU and Illinois).

Here's your chance.

silly arguements

we got swept by houston and lost to mcneese the same week in 2000 (lost to mcnesse 2x that year)

to say we dont have heart is just silly. would a team without heart have come back from down 8 runs?

people who disagree with you are "punks"??

Disagreeing and insulting are two different things.

You notice that neither is making a prediction...

I was going to say that, you stole my thunder.

Anyone watching this team play last year and this year can see the amount of "heart" it has. Das Tiger, I'm afraid that an idiotic statement.

MY first year?

Birth Date: June 7, 1985

How old are you son, 24? You haven't seen anything, much less the best of LSU baseball.

If he's 24 that means he was alive in the 90's which means he saw the best of LSU baseball, fwiw

I will go on record saying that LSU will not be swept this season. Will go 46-10 and make it to the CWS. I will say that Illinois will go 36-16 and maybe get swept once.

Its not so much the negativity as it is the idiocy involved in it. If you wanna look through my post history, I had to calm down some of those calling this the "greatest team ever" at the beginning of the season, so I guess I'm just being a homer

You haven't grasped anything I've said have you? I can't continue this conversation with someone who obviously doesn't follow the sport very well or at all.

It's either heart, talent or coaching. I choose to rule talent out.

Consider this your personal invitation to put your prediction down. Show your immense knowledge. Let's see exactly how much you know. All are invited.

I've seen one LSU game this year and I'm pretty sure that's more than the OP has seen

Catman, at least you have a pair!

For the record, I disagree with you and hope you are right. I will return later after the loudmouths have a chance and post mine as well. Obviously I don't see as many wins for either team. I'm sure they are waiting on everyone else's input because they have no opinion of their own. People like that just regurgitate what they hear.

I like Catman's prediction with a couple more losses for LSU, I won't make a prediction to prove a point though, even the experts don't make great predictions. Predicting the seasons for each team is pointless, but oh well, i'll say 42-14 in the regular season with LSU not getting swept (assuming all games are played, we'll prob lose one or 2 to rain)
I think he got Illinois about right, roughly.
