According to Russian he was told he would be the number 4 catcher with little to no playing time. He went back home to Palm Beach Community College.

eta: I love how when you scroll over the cheers selection on the right, it doesn't just say cheers, it says "Cheers, Brotha"

He's a spy. He has his ways and methods.

Because Russian was at the Coaches Committee meeting last night, where those answers came right from coach's mouth.

yeah I'm not sure you should trust that "he is on Coaches Committee and he was at the meeting" it is his cover for being a spy.

Barash got bad advice.
Why skip your sr year of high school and bypass draft in order to enroll early at LSU when you missed fall practice which is the time most jobs are won.
He wants playing time and he was 4th on the catcher depth chart. He's going to Palm Beach CC to get playing time and will likely resurface at another school.

He never was going to win the job last year with Ross around. I'm guessing he came in to learn what he could from Ross with the hope of winning the job the next year. Obviously that didn't happen so he is moving on.
Wish the kid the best.

Definitely. Seems like a really good kid. Unfortunately with the stupid 35 man roster limit, this stuff has to happen.

Why do you think it's stupid? 35 is plenty and it keeps coaches at better programs from hoarding players who could start elsewhere. Him leaving to a place where he can play the sport he loves is a good thing in the long run.

Because it forces coaches to "cut" players every year. As it is, we still have 3 too many on the roster.

This is big boy sports brah.

Actually the bigger problem I have with the rule is that 27 of the 35 have to be on some sort of baseball scholarship. The NCAA shafts baseball with only 11.7 already, you should be able to divvy them up how you want.
