Looks like Paul Mainieri has put a cease and desist on the social media talk by the players. Imagine how uneventful football season would be if Les did this.

btw do they have some new piece of equipment that tracks the speed of the ball off the bat and can estimate homerun distance?

I think they're making up those numbers to get a mental advantage on the UNO's, Grambling's, and Yale's of the world.

I don't think it's new. They've had a box in the press box since last year that breaks down pitcher motion, arm velocity, ball velocity at point of release and at point of contact. I think it's the same device tracking bat speed and ball speed off the bat.

ETA: I'm guessing though.

ok. i dont remember will davis mentioning it last year in his practice tweets. that's why i thought it was new.
