I don't give a frick if they like baseball or not.

I just found it hilarious when they would say "frick Broski for hating on basketball" (which I never did, btw) in one breath and then roll out the whole "college baseball is boring" line in the next breath.

I like baseball and will watch an lsu game here and there. But the cws this year was brutal. You cant have your biggest stage be ad boring as this year was. Hopefully gets fixed this year.

Im interested how college bball final 4 is going to be officiated. If the refs do a 50 foul game itsgonna be a disaster

People like myself who are baseball enthusiasts don't care it the games are 1-0 or 15-11, baseball is baseball and it's never boring. But I would never knock basketball or any other sport because people love what they love. I just happen to have a passion for baseball.

It won't be this year, they will implement the new ball that travels further for the 2015 season.

I am obsessed with basketball but would be pissed about the product if noone couldmake a shot past 10 ft and every point was a free throw.

A good pitchers dual can be fun but a pitcher making a mistake andn hanging a curve that is crushed for a bloop single rakes away from the game. The game is designed to punish mistakes and it just didnt last year. The post season up to omaha was fine,

This is basically how I feel.

It may be a mortal sin, but I like college baseball more than college football most of the time

But I like the NFL more than both. (College baseball is very very very close behind).

can't argue with you, gary. i debate myself all the time on which one I like more between football and baseball. Baseball is my favorite sport but I get more obnoxious about football, i guess because everything happens at once? anyway i love it all.

with the exception of football I have heard this statement about every sport

you can claim basketball is boring they just throw the ball around and try and score

Soccer is boring you could go to sleep for 2 hours and the score doesn't change, pretty much same thing with hockey but not as bad.

don't get me started on golf

while I most people would call someone crazy I think you could even make the same point about football. In football you spend more time waiting for a play to happen than the actual action of the play. I think on average about 1/6 of the time there is actual action on the field

most people will claim that x is boring because they don't like the sport. For people who love baseball it is very entertaining so if you don't like it don't spoil the fun.

I'm def a baseball guy but it sometimes feels like I care about football more, but that is because each game is life and death for national championship hopes, in baseball if you lose you come back the next day and play again and you still have a shot.

For those who think no one likes baseball:

Harris Pole
quote:

In 2014, 35 percent of fans call the NFL their favorite sport, followed by Major League Baseball (14 percent), college football (11 percent), auto racing (7 percent), the NBA (6 percent), the NHL (5 percent) and college basketball (3 percent).

I don't think many argue that no one likes mlb. People that claim that are just trolling. But on your list the the professional and collegiate level are listed with a percentage of being someone's favorite except college baseball. And college baseball is the one majority are talking about no one likes. It would kind of like saying AA baseball is my favorite sport. Majority of people only want to watch baseball by the best in the world.

I can agree with that last point. People want to see a quality product. Which is at the bottom of this. At LSU, baseball has been and still is a quality product. That is not consistent across the country. And on the same note, across the country college basketball is a good product but hasn't been at LSU for some time.

Finally, I would like to point out that MLB + college is still more popular that NBA + college.

If you did a poll of south Louisiana it would go

#1 CFB
#2 NFL
#3 college baseball

Maybe in Baton Rouge. But he's arguing nationally. And he's right. We can't just ignore that just like he shouldn't ignore how things are at LSU even if it is an outlier.

Also, NBA would be above college baseball, IMO.

While your poll is one way of seeing what's more popular TV ratings o think is a better way to tell and NBA finals have beat world series ratings I think 6 of 7 years and last year the final four out drew two traditional powers in a world series

That said I think NBA and mlb are even and even though NBA out draws it slightly its close enough to swap on a year to year occurrence

TV ratings can be skewed depending on the market in the final and the behavior of fans based on following a favorite team vs. the sport itself.
