Someone at work today was saying that LSU/Bama would be able to hang with and potentially beat Miami or Indy.

While I do agree that both teams are the cream of crop as far as college football, I disagree.

This topic comes up each year whenever there is a dominant team in NCAA and shitty team in the NFL. Do people actually think either LSU/Bama could win?

I don't think it's crazy. Just about all of both defenses will play on Sundays. Richardson could play right NOW in the nfl.

The combined olines would be pretty stout. Bamas linebackers and our secondary could probably hang.

Still think they lose

Patrick Peterson is not a good NFL DB (yet), and he tore it up at LSU. Now, take other players who are relatively not even as good in college and put them against NFL players, and it would be a slaughter.

Its not terribly crazy. Look at Cam Newton. Guy is having a great year and TR could start right now for the steelers.

Anyone who seriously thinks that any college team can win against the worst NFL teams really need to learn a thing or two about the game.

Every year someone brings this topic up. The answer is hell no. The shittiest NFL team is still full of All-American type talent. The 2nd teams of Indy or Miami would throttle any college team.

This is the stupidest thing imaginable. Yeah, a lot of Bama and LSU players are going to make it to the pros, and some will have nice careers. But a lot more will never even make NFL training camps. It would be the most vicious steamrolling imaginable. It would be the equivalent of LSU or Bama playing a mediocre high school team.

There are 11 players on each side of the ball. Obviously, both teams have NFL caliber talent.

Either team would get smoked. But you could say that it would take an NFL team to beat them. That's a pretty extreme statement and almost defensible.

Maybe they'd put some garbage points at the end.

Haha this is so silly.

NCAA athletes get to practice 20 hours a week? for a few months?

NFL players do the same thing for as a job, 365, are smarter, better conditioned, stronger.

It is just insane to think of. If you want to say the athletes LSU and Bama have could beat an NFL team if the players were 5-10 years older, then sure. But these are kids.

neither QB would be able to score

however, with that being said, if you combine the best of LSU's defense & the best of Alabama's defense, I like their chances holding Indy to not that many points...maybe 31-3
