I can't believe all those people who are standing there with their arms folded as Russell Shepard approaches the goal line. Geez!

I was just noticing the same thing. Maybe one out of 4 people with their arms in the air or at least clapping. Everyone else just standing there emotionless. What the heck?

You are right. These are not SEC caliber looking Females cheerleaders. Yes, they are cute. The 1st pic shows her yellow teeth. In the main group, pic, there are only 3 above average.

The Chilly Girl looks like she is above 30. I am not saying that I wouldn't at 2 am.

Umm...This is not our best crop of cheer leaders. Ugly is harsh, but they are not hot.

When did football pants stop covering the knees?

Awesome pics BTW, as usual.

nicer. That's a $2000 piece of glass...

And you can definitely tell the difference between his Nikon lens and my Sigma lens.

Oh, and Awesome pics.

Another question:

What, if any post processing did you do? Or is the high iso performance of the D300 THAT much better than the D90?

Not much PP on these...No photoshop at all. I did bump the Fill and Vibrance slightly in Lightroom..then sharpened at "low" when i exported them.

Some of them still have a little too much motion blur...I should have pushed the ISO a little more. I can go to about 2200 with usable results....anything more than that in low light has too much noise for me. I have shot at 3200...and for 4x6 prints it's fine...but anything larger the quality starts dropping.

Most of the game pics are somewhere around ISO 1000, f/2.8 - 3.5 and ss from 1/250 to 1/400.

Looks like you shot shutter priority during once it got darker. Better results than aperture priority? My shots on shutter priority were way too dark.

There's Ciron Black holding yet again. One day they're gonna see him and he's gonna get about 6 holding calls. Most of the time he don't even need to hold 'cause the play is away from him.
Pic #14?

I shot some of both with about the same results. I was still a little low on the SS in some cases though as you can see.
