Rewatching this classic because why not? And during Auburn’s second to last drive on third down, Devin white hit their qb the exact same he did against Mississippi state last year and no call. It was the same head ref too. I guess when you’re not playing Bama the next week, it’s not the same penalty.

DJ Chark's punt return saved that game, turned that season around, and possibly saved Coach O.

I remember Donte Jackson getting a ton of hype he could never back up. He balled out in that game though in the 2nd half, especially Auburn’s last few possessions.

Superfan, are you suggesting collusion twixt the NCAA and its officials to influence the outcome of games?

I remember a wave of temporary insanity which overcame this board following the upset of Auburn. Numerous posts about winning the SEC, playoffs, and getting into the championship game!

And all this only two weeks removed from an embarrassing loss to Troy!

I was there. Great comeback, too many people left at 20-0

The ref making that call from a slightly obscured angle is one thing. The B'ham REC office backing it up on replay was the atrocity.

Well to be fair it being hot as balls probably had an effect on that

True, the last 2 Auburn games (before this year, I wasn't at that one) were hot as hell. I drove 9 hours, so my threshold for leaving was a little higher than people living in BR.

That was the hottest I remember ever in Tiger Stadium, hotter even than Utah State this year. It was brutal

That was a great game. It was so hot I went and stood under the stadium to get some relief from the sun...looked down and there was a field pass laying on the ground. Needless to say....the heat didn’t matter that much when I was on the field. Great experience.

Also, I remember Delpit getting blown by during that game which doesn’t happen anymore.
