i would love to see us wear those once a year.

Can u make the stripes on both the pants and shirts the same as the helmet now?
Posted on 9/25/07 at 7:32 pm to GaytorHater703
It's beginning to grow on me. The yellow stripe is tough looking. ONLY on special occasions and as long as it has enough LSU color to seperate it from Texas, Penn St.,etc. I'll sign.

Wear it at Kentucky, it looks great.

You've got my vote. Those look fricking awesome.

i think it looks horrible. i also thought the gold jersey/white helmet combo was god awful. guess I am out of touch with you whippersnappers.

Horrible!
Just like the Tulane uni's, add a feather to the helment and we look like a bunch of pimps.
Stick with what we have.

seems to me that all the older generation have gripes about it....your points about tradition are duely noted...i couldnt agree more...but i also dont see any harm in switching it up once a year...and sticking with that uni and not changing every year...but simply have a sleek white uniform for special games....anyone know what generation actually plays for LSU....the point im gettin at is the players seem to really like the special uniforms this week...and would probably be flipping for the all white ones....something like this done correctly could actually help with things like recruiting....and national exposure

Changing uniforms for the sake of changing uniforms is stupid. The uniform is supposed to stand for something...it is a recognizable symbol.
This ridiculous monstrosity is not a recognizable symbol. Nor is there a need for it. Nobody confuses LSU for anyone else when they wear the traditional uniforms. The current look is distinctive and instantly recognized by college football fans.
In other words, our traditional uniforms aren't broke. Don't change 'em.

Let me see that uni with our current gold helmets, then I'll decide.

Um...if anyone recognizes who is on the field, that is.
I like to think that any time that the LSU football team shows up on the field, it is a special occasion...'nuff said. LSU shouldn't need "special alternate uniforms" to create a sense of "specialness" when they take the field.
The uniform means something. I liken this to trying to change up the US flag every now and again for "special occasions" just for some change now and again...not because anyone has any trouble recognizing what that symbol is supposed to represent.

Looks good to me! I like the idea of having different uniform combinations a couple times a year. Stick with tradition most of the time, but break out something different for two or three games. I think I'd also like one with a purple jersey, purple pants, and a white helmet.

Badfrigginass!
We should only wear that on an artificial turf field. That uni would like clown jiz if we played on grass with paint, especially on wet sod like the SC game.
