That's what he does. He has the courage to take that shot - the last shot to avoid the loss. Some players will avoid that responsibility, too nervous.

Hickey's a stone cold killer!

BTW, it may not have been apparent on TV, but we had about 75 fans there in the LSU section. We made some NOISE!!

Thanks for representing Brit. They showed a couple of crowd shots near the end and I wondered if you were among them.

My sister lives in Orlando and I would have loved to have gone, but we had already make family plans at home. Glad it ended so well for you.

Future opponent UAB about to take down North Carolina. Hopefully they become another quality win.

I wanted to point out the very end of the game...the difference between LSU and Memphis. JOB could have easily slammed that pass from Hickey, but instead choose to run the clock and not pour salt in the wound. Memphis on the other hand would slam it in your face as they did to us Friday.

So Memphis just beat Okla St.

Friday's loss doesn't seem quite as bad.

Im not usually one to bitch about refs and come up with conspiracy theories, but I believe that they wanted the Memphis-oklahoma state rematch in the championship. These tourneys are all about money and ok state/memphis were the ranked teams with the larger fan turnout. When LSU took the 8 point lead with about 10 left on the clock the phantom offensive fouls and handchecks started to rain down on LSU. Those fouls extended the game and slowly allowed Memphis to creep back in it and most importantly get thwir crowd back into the game. If we were to play that game in the NCAA tourney or Baton Rouge, LSU pulls it out easily. Im still happy with our efforts in tourney, but its hard to convince myself that LSU didnt have the talent to walk out of there with 3 wins. This going to a fun season!

Great way to finish after Hickey drilled it!

Lot of promise on this Tigers team.

I don't know about the conspiracy part, but I do agree that that the officiating in that game was the worst of 3 games. That was the same crew that ref'd the Purdue OKS game and extended it by about 20 mins due to all the foul calls. When I saw how the crew rotation went and I realized that bunch would do the LSU/Memphis game, I knew we were in trouble.

Regarding OK State having a large fan base present, they really didn't. I was there, went to all but the Championship game and can give you a crowd size report:
1. Memphis (by far) 2. Purdue (surprisingly large contingent) 3.OKS/Butler about the same 4. WSU/St.Joes/LSU (St.Joes might have had a bit of an edge) 6.Siena

During our game against Memphis, the crowd was always noisy and into the game. Sometimes more than others, but they sang songs, did chants & claps, threw confetti. It was never a case of getting their crowd back into the game, they never left it.
Left me feeling sad for LSU with such a small fan base there. Can't wait to fill the PMac - our players deserve the lift a supportive crowd can give.
