Here is a nice question.

If Mickey would have stayed would we be undefeated?

It's crazy to think before the CofC game, we lost 1 game by 1 point and the other in OT.... I think it's a significant chance we are undefeated given one of many factors. Reality though is that we still haven't looked good even though we are very close to being 6-0. In our wins we weren't pulling away from crap teams and defense looked pretty bad. In our losses we looked poor offensively. Just not a lot to go on right now that shows this to be a good team, even missing some pieces.

I wondered how long it would be before the freshman excuse came out. Calipari can go to the finals with freshman, but we cannot beat Charleston? Nope, find another excuse.

When you get one and done freshman, you cannot act like they are freshman. They are last year players. If they aren't good now, when...

Oh my god please stop with this now. We have played six basketball games with our best players being true freshmen. It takes time. Freaking Tiger b-ball fans need to slow the frick down.

Read the OP. There's not a bigger basketball fan on this site that SoS. He stated that LSU is already facing an uphill climb to reach the NCAA tournament. A loss tonight could be disastrous. Our three losses were not to, um, shall we say, Duke, North Carolina, and Kansas.

I will tell you one saving grace for this team is that Ben Simmons can beat anyone. That will be hard to overlook if we turn things around. Just hard to win on the road in the SEC and we will have to win a lot of games to get considered if we lose another OOC game.

I have no excuses on why we've played so bad besides possibly the injury to Hornsby and Victor not getting eligible. I'm hoping this team will be totally different than they are now when we get them back for Houston.

Man if you think Johnny Jones is Calipari you are very mistaken.

You're right. Johnny doesn't run onto the court and physically push his players into the correct spot.

That is our ace in the hole if we are on the bubble. NCAA committee is not shy about selecting teams based off of criteria other than "resume". Having the potential #1 pick in the draft could push us over the edge of the bubble and into the tourny, if it comes to that.

No, not at all. I would never confuse Jones and Calipari. I was merely pointing out that the freshman excuse is not valid. The difference is coaching.

yet rarely does anyone make a back-cut or flash to the basket for Simmons to find them

As much as I and fellow ranters like to rag on Gray, he's been the only one making these kinds of back door cuts.

Pretty sure he is not comparing JJ with Calipari . I'm not sore on LSU just yet this year but these OOC games are very important with the SEC looking tougher than normal this year. I for one, don't want to have to see LSU need to do very well in the SEC tourny to make the big dance. Just saying.

Yeah I get you. Those Kentucky teams usually struggle early in the season as well while they learn to gel. The difference is they don't struggle with the College of Charleston I suppose.

They always find ways to win...but UK struggles against teams all the time. They were beating Boston by 5 with 5 minutes to go, and tied with Illinois State at half. However, they play at home and find a way to win. They normally turn it up with a few minutes left and the score ends up worse than it was. We just cannot even finish.

So Victor is eligible on the 13th? and Hornsby will be back in action.

Please say yes........
