Truly the most impressive thing about Bama 2020 was that that their team didn't fall apart, and didn't ever get cut down by covid (or covid related issues). It's honestly impressive. Before that season began, I was curious if a Saban-lead team with his detail oriented style would crumble to pieces with all the restrictions and regulations preventing him from doing his thing, or utilize them to his advantage in order to keep the team hyper-focused. I figured they were going to either go hard in one direction or the other. Obviously it was the latter. The team themselves in a normal year would have been a really good team (as they are most years), but when basically everyone else was a dumpster fire, it made them look like juggernauts.

I love the ‘19 team but Saban vs EdO seals the deal. Burrow would beat Jones otherwise but the coaching mismatch is too much.

Alabama fans are so insecure. Anytime I talk to any of my old friends who actually attended Bama, they all freely admit 2019 was a better version of their 2020 team. They also question how the hell zero players ever missed a game all season. The sidewalk alum are the ones who show up with these takes

It didn't stop O from beating Saban at Bama with the SEC West on the line and ending their 29-game home winning streak with an offense that was arguably their best (Saban said he thought it was their most talented offense). LSU scored more points than any other Bama opponent in history in 4 quarters at Bryant-Denny Stadium and they never had the ball with the chance to take the lead. Bama 2020 was great, but feasted on a bunch of weakened teams (with numerous teams missing multiple key contributors). Great offense, but inflated stats. And Bama's 2019 D actually gave up a little less points per game than the 2020 Bama D.
