Umm, if LSU wins out, we will likely be in a BCS game.

Miami still has Florida State and Virginia Tech..they'll fall out of top 10 soon.
Clemson still has South Carolina...they'll fall out of the top 10 soon.
Stanford still has Oregon...I think that'll be the nail in the coffin for them after losing to Utah.
Missouri still has A&M...they'll fall out of the top 10.
And Baylor are in their toughest part of their schedule. I can see them losing to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State...they'll fall out of the top 10 soon.

Certain things would have to fall in place for LSU to get back in the talk.

I doubt this. Bama and AU would have to both lose again. That means AU beats Bama and losses to UGA.

For us to go to the Sugar Bowl. LSU would have to win out. Bama would have to lose to Auburn. Auburn would have to lose to either Tennessee and/or Georgia. This would put LSU in the SEC championship against Missouri or South Carolina. It would be the fight for who is the best 2 loss team.

Mizzou's loss yesterday pretty much guaranteed that LSU will go to a BCS bowl IF we win out.

Sugar if Bama rebounds from LSU loss and still makes BCSCG, Rose/Fiesta/Orange if No SEC in BCSCG and SEC champion goes Sugar

I'm not predicting that we win out (FWIW i think we split Bama/A&M and go Cotton), I'm just saying that it now appears likely that we will go to a BCS bowl if we were to win out.

The issue before yesterday would've been an undefeated Mizzou losing to Bama in SECCG and going BCS over LSU. That problem is now gone...no matter how you slice it, LSU will be ranked higher than the SECCG loser regardless of who it is...of course again assuming that LSU wins out

Who would've thought that the Auburn game would turn out to be a quality win for LSU.

How so. If we beat Bama and they win the rest of their games, they will go to Sugar. I don't see LSU getting enough love from the BCS to give them a shot. SOOOO many other teams have to lose multiple games for LSU to make the BCS.

Nah, a few other teams have to lose one game.

Stanford to Oregon
Auburn to Alabama
Missouri to Alabama

And even if Auburn beats Alabama, that would help us, as we'd likely be headed to Atlanta for the SECCG.

Clemson losing another would help, but is not absolutely necessary.

Fresno losing a game and staying out of the top 16 or whatever it is would be helpful.

All of these things are likely, and you can't forget the huge boost in the BCS standings LSU would receive if they beat Alabama. They'd jump ahead of teams like Clemson and Missouri despite having one more loss than those teams.

LSU has played more games so far than any top 25 team. Much needed bye week. Health wise they are in great shape; just need to get back to basics in practice and beat Bammer. It can and will be done; just control the LOS and play better D. I know thats asking a lot, but at this point, thats where the game will be won. I dont think Bammer will play smash mouth, i think they will try to exploit Lbs and Sec in pass coverage. If they dont create pressure, LSU will be in for a long evening.

I agree with this.

I disagree here. LSU will not get in over a 1 loss Clemson. They beat a team LSU lost to.

Clemson has about a 5% chance of winning at South Carolina anyway, so they'll likely become irrelevant.

They have a mental block against South Carolina. They lost by 2 touchdowns at home last year when they had one of their best teams in years.

Um no. We win out, we are pretty much a lock for a BCS spot. The SEC is getting 2 as long as there are 2 in the top 14 (which there will be if we win out). Who is the other more viable SEC entrant in that scenario? Or are you stating that you truly believe only 1 SEC team would get in to the BCs games?!?

Would you rather be ranked 11th or not ranked at all? It looks a lot better, and maybe it looks better for the recruits Just sayin' I'd want to be ranked as high as we can.
