That's what really pisses me off- The Pac 10 & Big 10 do not play a conference championship- The other conferences get the shaft, especially if it is having to play a quality team, which would be the case this year in the SEC & Big 12.

The Conferences that chose to have a Championship Game did so out of greed and the almighty dollar. Noone held a gun to their head and said have a 12 team Conference and a Championship. I bet you feel bad for people who bought houses they had no business buying too.

USC is #4 in Coaches' Poll ahead of #6 Oklahoma. USC loses to Oregon St while Oklahoma loses to #1 Texas. Just sayin'.

This doesn't matter at all as the AP is an irrelevant opinion poll

LSU was blown out. That argument kept VT from having a case last year.

Yes but it wasn't just because they got blown out, it's because the decision was between VT and the team that blew them out

Sorry, but I don't think that one loss in the SEC will weigh as heavy this year. Texas, OU, Mizzou all have a better shot. LSU was blown out. That argument kept VT from having a case last year.

Unlike VT though, we could potentially play FLA again in the SEC Championship game, and if we win that, it renders the blowout loss null and void.

"In less than 4 years, Miles' former team, Okie State, is now ranked higher than Miles' current team."

....and Okie State has won what??? Conference championship??? National Championship??? In less than 4 years, Saban's former team, LSU, was ranked higher than Alabama....Saban's current team.....what in the hell has this got to do with anything??.....see how ridiculous this statement is??? How sure hope in the hell you do.

UF and Okie should have switched sides.
why so? Okie was #1 lost a neutral field in Texas, yes but not in Austin and UF beat a weaker team at home?

IMHO. FWIW TexasTiger related some very factual information! They are a solid poster on the rant!

Really, both teams' resumes are very similar.

14 in the coaches poll looks pretty legit, i cant make a good argument against it by the way we were dominated, i would however like to ask when will there be a legit ranking system. USC was #1 when the lost to an unranked Oregon St. tm and fell to #9.

We lose to a #12 ranked FL. team and they immediately look for an opening to bury us(Referring to us not being in the top 10). Having said that, we can only look forward to what we can control, the SEC Championship. Everything else will fall into place.

Looks like a 1970's poll. Had to do a double take.

All is right with the world. The best teams of the 60's,70's and 80's are back in their rightful place! Get use to it, this is just the beginning of what things will look like for many years to come.

I just think it is funny that AP voters were the last ones picked for kickball and never were good enough to play a team sport!

would lsu still be in the top 10 if they had only lost to florida in a close game? and to have usc ahead of lsu and at number 6 is ridiculous.

Not the end of the world. LSU has time to mature and could be a very different team by the end of the year. I truly hope we get to Atl and meet the Gators again with a more seasoned team. If we beat Bama and USC, I think we'll be there.

We have time to come back but we most certainly need to mend some fences on offense and to see if we can learn to defend a pass.
We are lucky not to be lower than 13th.
