If the Bama game was all we were looking at I would agree with you. The issue is what has Bama done as a body of work the last 2 years vs what LSU and Miles have done? The comparisons are shocking. Saban has not lost a regular season SEC game or any regular season game in 2 years. 16-0 in SEC play versus 8-8 for LSU. It is possible LSU could beat Bama next season and still lose the West to Bama. I think Les has proven what kind of coach he is the last 2 seasons. All coaches have off games. I think Saban is a much better coach than Miles and may lose 1-2 games like this a year now that he is at full strength. For every 1-2 slip ups Saban has Les is good for 3-4 off games. The margin for error now is just too small for Les to overcome. He can win 8-9 a year and still be 2-3 games behind Bama every year. Nobody here can ignore what Bama has done the last 2 years to Miles. 2008 we lost the West by 5 games. 2009 we lost the West by 3 games.

Tigermike,

I sure hope you're right. If you are, next year I'll gladly eat crow and say I was wrong. But as of now, I stick to my guns. Miles has proven he is an idiot, and will take down this program to mediocrity. "Doing my job" as a fan means supporting the LSU FOOTBALL PROGRAM, not Les Miles (especially when he is destroying it).

So I'll do my part and eat crow if I'm wrong and you're right. But if I'm right, and we have 8-4, 7-5, or even 6-6 seasons, you had better do the same.

that's only if he can find another program that is looking for an offensive coordinator in the middle of the season

Teams always lose contributing players every year. However, when you lose as many as LSU is going to next year, you don't expect a good season. You are simpily counting on our paper recruits to play up to their billing. But, since miles has been here, there hasnt been a whole lot of development. 9-3 would be one heck of a season imo. I think we are looking at 7-5.

miles and his clan are damn strong

At recruiting maybe, and even that aspect is overrated and unbalanced. Extremely weak OL recruiting. Questionable QB and DL recruiting. (Have to wait and see how CG turns out at QB) They're certainly damn strong at producing a team that's second best in the west and 8-8 in the SEC the last two years, that's for sure. Damn strong at regressing into mediocrity. Maybe Gonzales can help with the dysfuctional offense, but I'll believe that when I actually see results on the field in S.E.C. games.......

I have said this ALL year. Nobody listened. LSU was a 6-6 team that got lucky to wind up 9-3.

Our interior line was small because we played the small players(Hitt) instead of the big ones who played better(Hurst)

Let me get this straight. Florida went 8-4, 8-5 and 8-5 in three years with FL and was given the can.

Shula got 3 years with Bama.

What makes you think LSU is better than those other programs? Or worse?

Some of you are complete idiots.

Miles, whether you like it or not, made a decision to let RP go, a decision that was disasterous for the LSU offense last year. The offense didn't give any games away this year via pick six.

The defense was a disaster because Miles gambled on co defensive coordinators... and failed. And our disaster was 8-5.

Sort of like UF in the days of Zook, and the average amount of wins for Bama over the last 30 years.

He hired Chavis. The defense improved. He now has hired Gonzales, and the offense will improve.

Miles, whether you admit it or not, was a couple plays away from a 11-2 season, and a top 5 finish.
And before you say some crap about how close it was to 7-6, take a good look at other 10 plus seasons, including the Saban years over the history of LSU football (not many) and see how many games were coin flips. Perhaps you'll remeber that Meyer went 9-4 in 2007, or Saban went 7-6 in 2007.

Miles has made some bonehead mistakes and has made some great decisions. He's made bad hires and some good hires. He's won games he should have lost and he's lost games he should have won.

Perhaps its Saban penis envy.

Seeing that Saban accomplished 2 SEC titles, 1 NC in that span and Miles won 1 SEC title and NC, most would understans that Saban produced TWO 8 victory and one 9 victory seasons in 5 years, and Miles has one 8 victory and nine victory season,
and has won more games, perhaps the man deserves more credit than even Saban for what he has done here.

Bottom line, he's a decent coach. With the talent we have, that good enough to compete with anyone, and win titles against anyone. Perhaps you should take a look at Mack Brown's goofs at Texas over the last 9 years, and wonder what record he would have if he was in the SEC. Mack Brown is doing. Perhaps he'll win another NC. And if he does, I guess that makes him a better coach than Urban, or Nick, or Patterson at TCU, or Bowden, Paterno, whoever.

And before you say how stupid Miles is, perhaps you should take a long look at the stupid hires in LSU history. Yet we're still one of the top 10 programs of all time. And we're still in the Top 10 almost all year. And we still are recruiting lights out. And we have a TON of talent set up for the next couple years.

With Chavis and Cooper on the sidelines, the infusion of young talent (Mingo, Loston, Downs, etc) set to take off, and with Gozales having a year with the offense, I'd believe we can turn 9-4 into 12-2 or 13-1 very easily.

It appears that some of you are not even Tiger fans, can't be Tiger fans, or are NOT WORTHY of being Tiger fans.

If you are Tiger fans......

shut the hell up and see how we do in 2010.

I will say it cause its true. LSU has the talent of an 11-2 team, BUT they were coached and performed like a 7-6 team.

I"m always positive! But you'd better get your brain out of the twilight zone! Unless the football gods shine down on us.....we may make 8-5 Crowton and Chavis is not going to lead us to the promise land Crowton has no idea how to coach and Chavis" bend don't break" works in high school not the SEC!
