No excuses one way or the other, but I'd take a 1 point win Saturday. They have things to work on and no they were not impressive. LSU really doesn't at this point.

Laugh all you want but Southern Miss is an in state rivalry for them. State is down this year compared to last. It was not a gimme game. In fact it was close for a good while. Southern Miss is certainly a few notches above McNeese.

Southern Miss has gone 4-32 over the past 3 seasons

Miss St beat them 49-0 last year and only won 34-16 this year. Mullins (So Miss QB) put up 311 yards and a TD, but they just couldn't capitalize in the redzone, setting for 3 FGs inside the 20.

I think we should test that secondary. Can't be scared to let Harris sling it down field. then we have the running game and OL to convert in the redzone.

I still like this as a 7-10 point win by LSU.

I think LSU is going to run, run, run like against Ole Miss last year. Miss State's DL isn't as good as last year, plus we want to keep the ball out of Prescott's hands. I say LSU wins this.

Yeah and Miss. St. actually tagged on most of their points at the very end. The game was really close otherwise.

Yeah Dak had to play that entire game just to put it away. It was 27-16 til the last 6 minutes of the game.

True and in total agreement. I in no way meant that the LSU team should sit back and relax. They should practice, prepare mentally and physically, watch tape on MSU, and remember we owe them an arse whooping.

But I meant, us the fans, relax and get ready to enjoy watching LSU MSU repeatedly.

I'm rewatching the State game. They're o-line is pretty bad, their d-line looks ok, but they're playing an undersized Southern team. They should look better. No way should the line be that close. Tigers by 10. Easy.

Did I say anything about y'alls playbook or what you were showing? My comment was about the lines. Plenty of time on the field. And they looked a little underwhelming. Factual statement.

You should invest in some reading comprehension classes.

God I hate that line. -2.5 is begging everyone to take LSU and the books made out with bandits this weekend on the dogs.

State knew they were going to have a dogfight on their hands against USM they probably practiced full on for them for weeks. I guarantee LSU has been practicing against Moo state sets for weeks and practicing for mcneese minimally

It's at 4 on bookmaker, not sure if it changes or they just had different line. If it drops to 3 I'll jump but not at 4. Wish I had 2.5

This. This game is unique in the sense that there is one guy you have to affect...Prescott, and you win.

I think LSU will bring relentless pressure on him, blitzing him from every direction and forcing him into turnovers. He is THE key, and LSU will harass him all night long. If he doesn't have a big night, they can't beat LSU.

I can see LSU winning 24-21 with a late FG. That line seem pretty legit.

This could be the worst thing to do. Have to contain him in the pocket and make him throw. If they let him use his legs he will carve them up like last season
