2 players out of 53 distort the number?

There is a mixture of players over 30 who add intangibles but the core of the star players is just entering their prime with a few years of experience. With this group and shrewd drafting they can remain in that number of contenders. The whole league is always dynamic but remaining steady and keeping the best players makes for a consistent challenger.

Winston does not match up with Goff, Ryan or Wentz/Foles.

Bet he would look a lot different if he had been schooled by Andy Reid , Sean Payton or Mike Mccarthy.

You could have said Joe Burrow does not match Tua, Trevor or even Jake Fromm at this time a year ago. He was rated middle of teh pack in the SEC at the time, behind Felipe Franks. Winston deserves a chance to be in a stable QB room with a coach who can bring out the bet in him, whatever that is. He is top ten talent wise and with the right support base might become elite.

Well that would be one miraculous day.

The pelicans are not nearly as close as you seem to believe.

Yes they are. The roster is deep AF, and they have an all star in Ingram, a burgeoning super star in Zion, and a potential all star in
Zo. Couple that with the potential of Jaxson Hayes and an absolute grinder in Josh Hart, and the team is literally a SG away from being a top 4 team in the league.

I don’t know if you watch the NBA, and the Pelicans in particular, but their starting 5 is the highest rated in the league. They are young and dealt with a lot of injuries, but the future is ridiculously bright.

Goff has been pretty garbage since November 2018. 86.5 passer rating in 2019. That's barely ahead of Winston (who had twice as many games with a 100+ rating). If Payton can coach Winston, who is only 9 months older than Goff, up his ceiling is much higher.

Ryan and Foles are both old. Ryan is 35 and Foles will be 32 before the next Super Bowl.
