Yep, so true. The only problem is that ULL fans want to think that they're reenacting the Auburn/Bama rivalry, with them being Auburn.

Pretty sad, just like 8T4 running like a scared jackrabbit from Texas to the SEC and declaring themselves LSU's rival....

I get that not every Louisiana resident is going to love LSU. I just don't get the active hatred for the Tigers to the point that they become Bama fans.

Is that dick-riding, or just displaced schadenfreude looking for validation?

I get what you're saying, but you might have picked the wrong state as an example.

I know first-hand that there are many areas in Alabama that are full of bone-deep Auburn supporters and hate Bama with a passion. They have no problem with not being Gump dick-riders....

To me, Louisiana Bama fandom is more akin to people living in/around Columbus, OH that grow up as Michigan fans and hating OSU. I get that there will always be diversity in any geographic area's fanbase, but are there entire regions of Ohio that hate OSU and love Michigan the way it seems to happen with LSU and Bama?

I don't know, but somehow I doubt it.
