the crazy part is that he has said on here that he credits saban for miles' 1st 3 years.

Troy won 11 games. Troy was a play away from beating Clemson last year. Comical you acting like I'm not smart enough to grasp something.
Troy Clemson 2016: 30-10 Clemson with 5 minutes to go. Clem receiver dropped a ball before crossing the goal line and Watson threw 2 Ints. Sloppy but Troy was never in "control" of that game. Troy's only claim to fame has been the near defeat of LSU in 2008 which took a record 30 pt 4th Qtr to overcome and this year's total domination of LSU. LSU is the sole reason they had a great season and that loss made our season irrelevant.
In the 2008 game Levi Brown ran the spread/RPO/Tempo to perfection. Then with a comfortable lead Coach Blakeney shut it down and it cost them the game. "If you do what we do, you have to do it all the time," Blakeney said. "You can't do it for a half and then lock down with a wishbone in the second half."
Like Kiffin said, you score, even if you are up 80, keep scoring and completely knock their arse out. That philosophy would have served LSU well, there are too many comebacks due to conservative reliance on the Defense.

The loss to Troy sucked and you play this game 10 more times and LSU wins 10 more times for sure, but upsets in college do happen. The #1 team in the nation (Clemson) lost to Syracuse, and Troy would have whipped Syracuse's arse.
Regardless, the loss shouldn't have happened, but it did springboard this team into a potential 10 win season.

This thread has gone on for this longbecause you monojeaux and others have tried to say it’s not a bad loss and Troy is a good team.
Yet now “experts on the rant” say upsets can’t happen.
YOU are the one saying this isn’t an upset and that Troy is a good team. If Troy is a fringe top 25 team then how is it an upset?
You can’t have it both ways

LSU lost to Troy because of deficiencies in Coaching/Offensive Identity which has under-utilized Tempo/Spread/Passing, producing inconsistent results and failing to SCORE POINTS. The goal is points. And LSU, this decade, has finished in the top 25 nationally in points just twice (17th in 2011 and 23rd in 2013). 3 Loss Teams with a 74th ranked Scoring Offense will compete for nothing.
Madking....Mad, Mad,Mad:
LSU opened the 2014 schedule with a miraculously lucky comeback over a WISC team that suffered a lot of D-Line injuries in that game. WISC later played OSU in the Big 10 title game and got beat 59-0. That is how far LSU was separated from the CFP Top 4 teams due to the unproductive and predictable Smashmouth "3 yds, a penalty, and a Punt" old-style offense had become.
LSU lost to Unranked MSST and AUB and fell out of the Top 25. They later were shutout 17-0 by unranked ARK which had not won an SEC game in 3 years.
Those losses were because Miled was in the I Formation more than any team in the FBS at a time when the SEC Offense success formula changed to: Awesome DTQB/RPO/Tempo/Spread and high scoring.
**MSST was unranked like Troy. Dak Prescott and their 5'9" RB ran amok HUNH. Their Defense was 2 solid units, rotating 50% of the time. Miles ran straight at them like an idiot banging his head. Harris came in with 3 minutes to go, the stadium 75% empty, and scored 2x in 28 seconds with a spread/RPO/going 10 Plays/Min.
*Auburn was the returning 2013 NC runner-up.
*AUB was 5-0, #5, and a powerhouse. Their 2014 SOS was #1 in the Nation. Auburn 2014 at time of LSU game:
In 2014 the SEC was the strongest it has EVER been and LSU was totally rebuilding on Offense after losing Mett/Hill/Beckham/Landry. LSU finished 5th in the West, Unranked, and tied for 7th overall.
Are Boring Coaching Hires why SEC is nothing Special Right Now

You keep sensationalizing the State loss when in 2014 we lost to an Auburn team with a worse record by more points.*
State has been one of the better programs in the SEC over the last 4 years and you’re trying to make it seem like we lost to ULL.**
Why didn’t you go bananas over the Auburn loss in 2014 that loss was worse than the State loss.

You asked me a question, something like why isn't 9-3 ok if it was in 2015? I answered your question that was in no way an insult. You next post to me is some childish shite about my cognitive ability. It's no big deal. shite gets put out here and sometimes by me, but I normally give what I get or what a poster is giving. At lease I can be honest about what I post.

Troy had us 20-17 in 2004 with 3:59 to play. Saban team coming off a national championship. 31-10 start of 4th quarter in 2008. Miles team coming off a national championship. They weren’t officially D1 until 2002. Look at Blakeney’s record prior to 2011 and get the total picture. Watch the clip where they were screwed, Totally Screwed, at Clemson on a fumble call that would have been a 14 point swing and quite possibly another upset. Should we lose? NO!!! But we’re not respecting a decent team here. Get them on our schedule again ASAP and kick arse from the get go AS IT SHOULD BE!

I mean it made for a more enjoyable season as opposed to us losing like 5-6 games and not getting an extra game at the end of the year to watch one of our favorite teams.

LSU won as many games as it did after Troy because those teams were having even worse years than LSU, Auburn notwithstanding.
UF - fired its coach
Ole Miss - just got set back a decade by sanctions
Arkansas - fired its coach
Tennessee - fired its coach

Let me get this straight. Your position is that without losing to Troy, we lose 5-6 games thereafter? Why is it that the only two options available to you are:
1) lose to Troy and then only loss 1 game the rest of the year; or
2) beat Troy and lose 5-6 games thereafter?
Any clarification would be appreciated
