So much for that "Brady is taking over in 2020" speculation.

We’re gonna lose Brady to Alabama now.

Odd photo to use for the article about an extension...

I just read that.

Brady hasn't coordinated and he is young. Maybe he feels he isn't ready.

It's a wise move to make. Puts an end to the speculation yet gives the flexibility to change the structure internally without making a lot of noise.

They can always reassign Ensminger with that salary to some new off field role or position until Brady gets acclimated.
I at least want to see some results in actual games before anyone anoints him the next Sean Payton.

a 2 yr tutelige position for one of the highest paying coordinator university in the country, not a bad gig.

What's relevant is the perfection of the spread offense (at LSU CFB) and more to the point how well, how long & how efficiently.

One year? That's not much of an extension. If the offense works well, Brady is in line for a co-OC position at LSU for 2020. Not a bad gig for a 20-something coach on his way up.

And this is NOT *"Brady's Offense". Brady is one of a dozen or so coaches who have studied this offense to a PhD level.

*and yes, I am one of the guys guilty of calling it that

LSU is a tough place to ascend in. High pressure low tolerance expectations.

And a GREAT place to ascend, if you have the chops.

The extension is meaningless. The buyout attached to it will tell the story.

Congrats to Orgeron, if true. Brady needs to concentrate on the Spread/RPO. Not get side-tracked by all the ancillary duties of a sole OC.

Brady's time will come soon enough.

Maybe Brady can help install the scheme but he isn't very good at calling plays.

I want to know why everyone is so on board with making Brady our OC with literally no experience calling a play ever... while a lot of people were against making Aranda(our best coach by far) the head coach. Over the them Dline coach

This. I wasn't thrilled to hear about the extension, but it essentially means nothing. We finally have a competent AD, so if the offense stinks again this season with all of the talent we have coming back, I'm confident that Steve E. won't be calling plays in 2020, no matter what Orgeron wants.

I don't know what makes people think Brady is going to be the OC here at any point. It's 100% speculation.

Not everyone. Brady has never called plays in his life. Letting him get his feet wet in the SEC West is not something that I think will go well.
