Looking back to 2007 in disbelief

I was just thinking about the 2007 season. It was such a roller coaster, and it was just so much fun to watch. All of the top teams just kept losing all year long, and teams like Mizzou, Kansas, and West Virginia were near the top of the rankings. When the dust settled LSU had won its 3rd national championship and its 2nd in 5 seasons.

Who would have thought that if you could look into a crystal ball and see 10 years into the future, you would see our program in shambles and hitting rock bottom like it is right now? It's mind boggling how bad we screwed everything up and how bad this last coaching hire was. We immediately fell apart with this guy at the helm.

I just hope we can make the right moves to get this program headed in the right direction and not have to wait 45 years for another national championship like we did from 1958-2003. The future looks pretty depressing right now to say the least.

Not that hard to believe. Look at Tennessee, Miami and Nebraska.

It’s always easier getting there than it is staying there.

I had the 2003 and 2007 internal walk down memory lane as well. I was night dreaming sitting in the south end zone in the 2nd half looking at an empty Valley losIng to ULL’sCo Member sunbelt school beating the tigers 24-6.

The '07 offense seems like it was on another planet now.

That's like "Wall Street", "Now, you had what it took to get into my office; the real question is whether you got what it takes to stay." LSU is Bud Fox, without the late-found integrity.

Two of those have no recruiting base and Miami has talent but no real support around it's program.

Us falling to that level in this modern era would be really bad.

We shouldn't need Tom Osborne and the shite you could pull off in his day to win.

Maybe all those guys that transferred this year knew what was coming.

Who would have ever thought Texas is in a 7 year drought and getting to a bowl game is an accomplishment for them right now. Who know it could be a blessing in disguise if LSU completely cleans house and fires coach o and Alleva after the season.

You are an idiot. They transferred because they saw better players that would beat them to be starters. To make it simpler for your small brain, they gave up and wanted to be starters elsewhere. Look at how much we have lost due to injuries or for other reasons on both sides of the line and look at those young freshman that were not starters own those positions. Props to Greedy Williams for beating out the starter. The coaching staff needs to get this mentality like Saban has. The best players on the field, PERIOD!
