1st quarter drives for WVU:
15 yards punt
24 yards fumble recovery
37 yards INT
2nd quarter domination:
4 possessions, 54 yards, 3 punts and an interception
3rd quarter:
props to Dana H, made some great adjustments and dominated the 3rd quarter. however, better props to Chavis and our entire team. After the Mo kickoff return for a TD, WVU only touched the ball 3 times:
32 yards, Turnover on Downs
35 yards, fumble recovery
14 yards, PUNT late in 4th quarter
we are DAMN strong and able to overcome honestly our FIRST bad quarter of football. and during the BAD quarter, we were only outscored by 7 points
eta: offense was also very productive. 13 possessions, 6 touchdowns (5 sustained drives) & 1 missed FG/dropped TD
15 yards punt
24 yards fumble recovery
37 yards INT

Chavis' vanilla gameplan for lack of applying pressure (run blitz included) actually applied pressure to his secondary to make tackles, which they didn't. Every team in the SEC is wondering what our blitz package might possibly look like with this year's team and it's good to keep them guessing. It's not good to give up over 400 yards passing. Maybe everyone will stop pumping these kids' head with "the greatest since slice bread'' crap that ignites on the field trash talk. Calm down and come back to earth defense. You'll be fine.

Defense was more aggressive in the first quarter.

So you ignored the 3 TD drives?

If you put on house music and then read the OP it's much more titillating.

I'm not worried either.
They threw *65* passes for only a 7.2 ypa.
Add a sub-par tackling nite and there you go…a 26 pt. Win on the road vs a #13 team.

All true but this is not to say the secondary didn't make mistakes. There were a couple of blown coverages and missed tackles which should not have happened. And 400 yards is still 400 yards - regardless of the 'scheme'.
There's work to do. Not as much as some people think but more than what most of us want to believe.
I think its fine to figure out the mistakes and fix them as we go along. Teams that achieve big things aren't perfect - they just fix things faster and peak at the right time.
