Looking Ahead to 2027

No, I'm not making this post because I believe the season is lost. We're squarely in the playoff race and are about to go on a run here.
Everyone is talking about giving Lane time which is 100% the truth. What's also true is the new schedule format sets some teams up for failure some years. 5 vs 4 home games is a massive deal and frankly sucks as far as formats go. But it is what it is.
2027 is looking like this:
Aug. 28 Northwestern State
Sep. 4 Houston Cougars Football
Sep. 11 UTSA Roadrunners Football
Arkansas
Missouri
Oklahoma
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
at Florida
at Georgia
at South Carolina
at Texas A&M
Houston and Ole Miss will be challenges, but what I see is a clear path to 8-0 home/neutral. That road slate tells me 2-2. I know we'll all want to ascend under Lane and go 11-1, but the 9 game schedule is going to be an uphill battle every year to lose 0-1 games total (unless you play Georgia's schedule).
TLDR; loving the future under Lane & looking forward to getting our sweet revenge against A&M this Saturday

What's the neutral game? Houston? Is that gonna be our kickoff game? Or do we know yet

Looks like it's Week 2 after a tune up against NwSt. And yes, game is being played at NRG in Houston

Agree with this. We need to create some continuity on the line from here on out. Let Harper, Satterwhite, Thompkins, and Thomas have opportunities while challenging them to be leaders. Outcome of that will be huge for next year.

We end the season with four straight road games?
I hate giving up a home game for a lame arse "neutral site" game, which will essentially be a home game for Houston.

The SEC has yet to announce the dates for the SEC schedule. Only the location has been set.
