Lets face it, Harris is not a D1 quarterback. Etling is an average D1 quarterback that looks better than that by comparison. It's hard for any QB to run a offence they have no experience with. Where are you going to find a power I formation HS quarterback these days. Unless you have a time machine, good luck. Just saying. Square peg round hole.

Not that he performed well, but Jamarcus Russel was in NFL.

Miles needs to start Etling. If he performs well, great coaching decision. If he falters, insert Harris. Harris will have less pressure. If Harris starts and flops, kid's confidence is shot forever.

It seems every QB that Miles has recruited has come from a "spread option" type system that he tries to plug into a pro-type offensive scheme. Those who have "transferred in" to the program are "pocket/pro-type" passers. Mett and ET...seem to have a handle on things and seem to be able to get the ball downfield...just seems that way...

BH's actions say a lot about his character right now. He's acting very JJ in the way he pouts and runs off the field without his team mates. Only guy to blame is yourself.

So the one bad move he's made trumps anything he's done up to this point? You don't know shite about his character - neither do I - so these comments are baseless.

And the only guy to blame is yourself shite is equally ridiculous. Etling was 6/14. Sometimes there are plenty of outside forces impacting your play.

For the millionth time, I don't have a clue why these threads are started or why they're allowed to stay up. People don't discuss any specifics about BH or his play, they just repeat shite they've heard other misinformed people say or they directly insult the man's integrity and character without having met him. He's still a Tiger, let's try to treat him as such.

Why do people say this? He was a D1 QB for a significant amount of games. The D1 QB he replaced - Jennings - struggled more at LSU than Harris did, yet Jennings transferred to another D1 school and is the starter there too.

These guys are D1 QBs that struggle to execute in our system. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you believe this, why even make the first comment when there has been exactly 1 year since 2008 where the QB play has been anything better than mediocre?

What worries me most is Harris being named the starter and doing just well enough to stay in with the offense not being able to complete a drive and remaining neutral and miles using stats and completion percentage as an excuse when we lose another close one.

I would go with Etling and even try Scott before going back to Harris. Harris showed he is lost and no awareness.

i think playing scott for the rest of the season if etling can't get it done is the best option.

scott is also a true dual threat. has a great arm, and is a skilled runner, not just a qb with some speed.

Look. Danny is the starter already. They called bull shite plays in the 6 plays that BH was in the game. Gave DE some different packages long enough to make his mark. As soon as they go back to the regular package, he struggled too. You got the QB you wanted. Move on.

Give him one more chance against state. If he's not producing by the fourth quarter put Etling in.

So we can be losing and put DE in a bad position to have to lead a 4Q comeback? No thanks. Harris has had three years to meet the standard of average/above average and it just hasn't worked. Time to see if DE can do better.
