by the mid 1930's LSU was one of the largest universities in the nation....

by Federal Law, ROTC was mandatory for two years at all land-grant colleges and universities...part of the Morill Act that established the A&M colleges...

I've had that user name since 1997. I retired in 2006, so I don't know what the latest is. So far it's been a mess, and getting American involved will just make it more so.

it burned down in 1869.

The seminary reopened October 2, 1865, only to be burned October 15, 1869. On November 1, 1869, the institution resumed its exercises in Baton Rouge, where it has since remained.
