This should be the area of most improvement for our team over the next few years.

I think Cutrera's job is safe for the time being, since we have no other MLB that is as game-ready as Jacob is, at the moment.

i think riley plays MLB

Baker will play a big role whether he starts or not. Riley and Shepherd are solid. Cutrera is experienced, although not great playmaker. If no injuries LB position will be ok next year.

I heard Theriot is being moved to FB. He's a good athlete without a position from what I've heard. Maybe Chavis lobbies to keep him at LB.

No...hes not a safety. Where did you come up with that?

I didn't say he was a safety, hence the question mark. His stats read, 6'1" 212lbs. We all know he can run...and we all know he can hit...considering his stats and after watching him play he looks like he could easily become a snot-knocking strong. Pure conjecture on my part.

you right they should try him out to see if he can cover but the Chad jones move I've been saying that since they use him as a rover-like position anyways.

He typically likes his LB's quick, athletic, and versatile

I hope this means we can finally plug the hole in our defense where teams repeatedly complete short outs to RBs and FBs out of the backfield against our LBs.

Spurrier in 07 was the first to figure this out and we haven't fixed it since. The play makes me sick.

The way teams are moving to spread and spread option offenses, LBs and safeties will really start to be interchangeable. You are going to need fast LBs who can drop back into passing lanes quickly. That plays into the Chiefs style.

This seems to be the trend but we tried that with UF last year and got smoked. Prefer to "lock the box" with 4DL and 2 (or 3 LB's) and play man coverage - we've got the athletes to do this.

In the Chavis system, I would like to see Riley make the move inside, and move Baker into the starting lineup. We might see some big shakeups in the LB corp this year, with Chavis coming on board. Alot of posters might not like this, but we might just see C. Jones make the move to LB. Thoughts?
This year is no differnet for me I cant wait to see what CJ will be doing, although I think he stays at s will db concerns.

If we get these two, maybe we could put Darren Myles or Craig Loston at LB if not CJ.

CJ should never leave the field he was swapped out way too much last year. Mccray can't cover hits good but is toast in coverage. Only game he covered good, Fla., tipped ball Harvin TD

Cutrera is a beast... As far as being big and being able to hit. He is pretty slow though and can't cover so hopefully all we'll be needing him to do is plug holes...
