Could have tried literally anyone else at this point.

I thought the same thing last night. I think it's bullshite to pile on Beloso and he seems like he's starting to see the ball a little better the past few weeks. But last night he just looked helpless at the plate. Maybe Pawl had a feeling but in that situation, I don't see how you don't give someone else a chance to make something happen.

My son takes hitting lessons in Gretna from the same instructor Cade takes from in the off season and they occasionally hit together. First off, Cade is a great kid and super nice to my son. Leading up to the start of the season, they were working on basically undoing what Eddie Smith and PM wanted him to do in the 2020 shortened season, which was to hit everything to the opposite field side to avoid the shift.

That's not what made him successful his freshman year and it's make Cade very "handsy" and that's why you see a lot of pop-ups, ground balls, etc. Eddie Smith is the same guy that takes a .200 hitter and keeps him there or helps them decline. Bianco is a good example. Dude has some serious juice and he hasn't gotten any better.

Go with the hot bat at DH.

So Cade is the man right now.

But he needs to do better than Thursday night.
