That's the thing they refuse to accept. 2022 was possibly the 2nd best LSU QB year in history up to that point and they acted like he was Anthony Jennings
It really depends on what you’re looking at. His passing was what drove people nuts. Passing is kind of important for a QB. Dink and dunks, tuck and runs, underthrown deep balls, and throwing behind receivers in stride isn’t nearly as impressive as what we saw this year. He could’ve changed his name and most of us would have believed he was a different player.

He threw for 2900 yards at almost a 69% completion rate and 7.5 ypa, and a 5.67 TD:INT. In terms of LSU QBing, that's the elite of the elite. Only Burrow and JR had better passing years.

Yeah, you’re reading stats only though. Kind of like people who had Bo Nix 1st in the Heisman race and then he plummeted after the voters actually sat down and watched the PAC 12 championship. Teams did not respect his mid to deep ball passing ability last year and he rarely made them pay for it.

Um, those people were NOT reading stats.
Stats got Jayden the Heisman.
Barber shop/old sports writer stupidity almost got Nix or Penix the Heisman.

Meanwhile Bama is in another CFP with a win over LSU lead by a QB Saban benched at the beginning of the year.

I hope a lot of people in that thread realize they’re idiots and should keep their opinions to themselves sometimes Hopefully they use it as a learning lesson
Were you here for baseball in the spring? How about after the women’s bb team lost game 1 to Colorado this year?
2018 when burrow was good but not yet otherworldly?
Ain’t nothing gonna change about this crowd. It’s what makes them horrible and awesome at the same time.
It’s always fun to watch

And most all those shite heads were in every game thread last year every time JD ran with:
“Derp!! All five dem receivers wuz WIDE OPIIINN!!”

I made a number of posts last season supporting JD5 and was berated, insulted and down voted into oblivion.
You dumb fricks.

If I were a receiver at LSU I wouldn’t be able to hit the transfer portal fast enough.

So was Joe Burrow.
That was a very different situation. Ensminger had him running more of a pro-style offense that was mostly based under center in 18. Burrow had always played in spread offenses out of the shotgun, so it was a big adjustment. We moved from that to an offense he was much more familiar with in 2019 and I think that made a HUGE difference. I’m sure there was personal development that took place as well, but that offensive shift unlocked some things there were already there and waiting to be taken advantage of.
With Daniels, it was the same base offense with many of the same concepts. The biggest difference was his confidence to let the ball go earlier and him developing the trust to throw the deep ball. He also did a better job of keeping plays alive with his legs, rather than only running when he would start to move in the pocket. He struggled to pass effectively at times while rolling last year, but was much more comfortable doing it this year.
The development on the OL and WRs can’t be overlooked either, but you could say the same about 2018 to 19, as well.

What’s infinitely more cringey are the people saying “told you so” that clearly didn’t watch a single game last year when JD wasn’t 1/10th the player he is today. I’m sure you guys would’ve seen Dennis Rodman as an airport janitor and would’ve predicted he’d have a 7 inch growth spurt and be in the NBA a few years later.
I mean it’s bad enough to be an idiot then. But you want to be an idiot now too. Your consistency is impressive in its own way.

It was a lot of little things. You can see where Daniel’s did a lot of detail and technical work and spent a lot of time in the film room. We all heard about the time he spent doing the VR work, as well.
Last year, you could often see Daniels’ head moving around making reads, but he seemed to lack the confidence to let the ball go into tighter windows. And he was definitely hesitant to throw it deep. He also tended to tuck and run once he felt pressure, rather than try to keep pass plays alive longer.
The numbers last year were solid overall, but he had a couple of very poor games (Auburn & Arkansas, especially) to go with the very good ones. All of this changed this year. Daniels was consistently good to great in every game, and improved on every one of the items above, some of them tremendously. The young man deserves a ton of credit for his hard work.
