Simple Question:

Why didn't JL win the job through the Spring, Summer, or Fall? Please tell me what I'm missing. Did he not have adequate time to outshine JJ? As an earlier poster said, he is not the WHITE qb so some of you are comfortable no matter what he does.

JJ wasn't perfect today, but he's our guy. But we have to remember he's young and still developing. He's not always going to look pretty, and sometimes he's going to make mistakes. It never ceases to amaze me how the people on this board treat our QB's. If they aren't practically perfect everyone is bitching. Just like they bitched about JaMarcus. Just like they bitched about Flynn. And what was said about JL last year (despite how frustrating his play was) was ridiculous. These are OUR guys. With fans like this, who needs enemas.

And yeah, I'll tell you how JJ is just like Tebow. If Tebow was our QB, SFP would still be bitching about his play!

Same shyt different day. Rohan vs Booty,,,,Jamarcus vs Flynn,,,now JJ vs J. Lee. Why should we expect any different. To actually suggest a guy who threw 16 ints 7 pick 6's, who could not seperate himself throughout the spring, summer and fall camps is the better option is quite puzzling.

Let's see, we are 5-0 with a 19 year old at QB. He hit on 66% for 200 and change and you are gripping about 2 throws. Get a life!

Something is horribly wrong. It is really sickening.

JJ had 200+ yds passing and 60 rushing including a big 4th quarter 25 yd run, lead the team to 2 4th quarter TDs at Ga. and that to some equals an "absolutely horrible" day.

Something is amiss, huh? It truly is amazing.

The people calling for Lee are out of their minds. Lee is done, Les hung him out to dry and he got his bell rung. Its JJ and RS from here out.

I got into an argument at church today with a guy who said "just think how good we would be if we actually had a quarterback." I dont understand the ignorance of some people. We completed more passess to the other team last year than to lsu players. Is that what these people want? The kid should be UNDEFEATED as the starting Q.B. at lsu. What the frick else can he do?

Wasn't the big complaint on the Rant that he took off too soon all the time?

Including the guy to whom you responded. He repeatedly complained that JJ was a 1 read and run QB who is incapable of scanning the field.

There has been a laundry list of JJ faults highlighed by some ranters. All of which could be expected of a young inexperienced QB. As JJ shows improvement, new faults are highlighted. However, that is what happens when you look for faults. You find them because no QB is perfect. Especially one early in his career. But the same people, if JJ was a relative, would paint a totally different picture of how he has performed.

When you concentrate on finding fault you will be successful. You also will overlook the positive. Notice that those who constantly harp on JJ's faults as a QB have yet to compliment the many good things he does.

What I see in JJ is a young QB who rises to the occasion despite mistakes or problems along the way (Most of which can be expected of a young QB). That 4th quarter drive was a thing of beauty and JJ showed you the future. And it is a bright one. When the game was on the line he excelled.

For all you guys who constantly find fault in JJ. Please do one thing. Give him credit for a job well done to this point despite your perceived faults. Also admit when he has proven you wrong before you go on to find his next fault. Admit you were wrong that:

1. He cannot throw for a high %.
2. He cannot scan the field.
3. He cannot throw for 200+ yards.
4. He cannot throw down field passes.
5. He cannot throw middle field passes.
6. He is not a good leader
7. He cannot win against SEC defenses
8. He cannot win on the road with a hostile SEC crowd.

JJ is a young QB who just went on the road against a top 20 SEC power and a hostile SEC crowd and brought his team back to win. He has his team undefeated and ranked 4th in the nation. Oh, and he is 19, the youngest QB in the SEC and has started only 7 games. And we have people complaining??????????????? They want him replaced by a QB who just had a historically bad season as the starting QB. Simply amazing!!!!!!

Man I think JJ is awsome. Watched him play in the dome as a senior and left in awe. He is a major talent, and also seems to be a good kid. He only knows how to do one thing--WIN. Did he lose a game as the starting QB while at Destrahan? Should be undefeated at lsu. The dude has terrel pryor type ability! He is a playmaker.

While I don't think JJ had a great game, I don't think its his fault. He's learning on the job. The issue is the coaches not putting him in the best position to succeed. He obviously can't run the option, so why is the play called repeatedly. He isn't ready yet to go through his progressions and reads, so why are we in a spread and leaving him vulnerable. We should max protect, give him a couple of reads, and if it isn't there, pull it down and run or throw it away. He's a pocket passer with athleticism, but they're trying to make him Dennis Dixon. He's not. Crowton needs to help the kid, but he's hurting him and hurting the team.

Again, I don't blame JJ, just like I don't blame JL for last year. It's a theme now, and the the issue is Crowton. He isn't putting the QBs in the best position to be successful and that includes his usage of Shepard so far.

Miles handled the defensive side last year and he'll need to handle the offensive side this year. To me, its obvious.
