kingbutt,Coach miles has did whats he has done despite a lot of stupid people here in my precious louisiana ,with so many negatards working against his recruiting ability, but he has over come anyway! sabin has had ESPN calling him a genius since he has left the armpitt of belechek ! His coaching carreer with ESPN cheering him on was OK, but not even close to great, even with ESPNs ethusiastic help until he come to LSU and slurped up denardos four top five recruiting classes one of them was probably number one ! concidering the circumstances I thought sabin under performed! He finally moved on to bama with ESPN recruiting in his back pocket and they really didn't need much help ! who do I like Sabin sucking on his espn silver spoon or the guttsy genius and recruiting ability of Les Miles,Geaux Les and Lsu !

I like him. He is a great motivator and recruiter. He is a true molder of men and leads via example. His passion and integrity make him a great roll model. At the same time he is relateable in that he seems to truly love and enjoy his job and puts all of himself into it.
However, he is not the best x's and o's coach. He is a poor situational play caller and awful at clock management, yet somehow, that often doesn't seem to matter as he comes across as a bumbling buffoon who wins anyway, like a blind and dumb detective catching the bad guy.
Also, one of his best qualities is also sometimes a weakness. He is loyal. His loyalty to his players often inspires incredible performances, but it also causes him to leave players in who are not performing. He seemingly plays favorites with both coaches and players and puts others in the dog house to disappear for games at a time. This can lead to some players (see jj) becoming entitled and lethargic as they become comfortable in their roles rather than confident and assertive.
All in all, he is a stellar coach that can accomplish great things when surrounded by talented coordinators who handle the play calling and in-game management.

Mostly because his wife has indicated so. Tough to fool a wife.

In JJs time here, Lee had 565 pass attempts.

it is LSU. and how the hell you can graduate from there (if you passed reading comprehension) and not know that makes me feel sorry for you.
What?

I've given the man his due. I'm just not enamored with his in-game coaching decisions....as king bob just pointed out.
Sorry for you if that's not what you want to hear.
I'd trade a little less Ward Cleaver for another Naty any day....and so would you for that matter.

if he does not adapt, how do you explain his winning.
He is competing in the toughest division of the best football conference, against all star coaches.
Do you think he gets by without varying gameplans and adapting?

good family men spend as much time as they can with their families not berating his underlings at midnight !

Pros
good family guy
most players seem to like him
gets 10 wins every season
Cons
hasn't beat bama lately. not cool.
i don't think he knew JJ as well as he thought he did.
sticks with lame arse coaches too long but eventually makes a great hire.

well LSU has the staff and the recruits to win another NC within the next 3-5 years.
If it happens, I sure hope you change your tune.

This couldn't be further from the truth, I live in the south but not in Louisiana, every single time I tell people I'm an LSU fan the other person laughs their arse off, tells me how much of a loser, douchbag bag les miles is.
Congratulations on being a dipshite.

already said he gets a free pass indefinitely if he wins another Naty.
And your right...we're GD stacked for the next few years and on paper, should win one. stay tuned.

my apologies, I didn't read 8 pages.
And I'm not too sure why the winningest coach in LSU history, who already has crystal hardware, needs a natty to get "a pass" from anyone.
But I guess some people are intent on being misreable despite the fact that LSU football is consistently good.
I'm glad this board wasn't around in the 90s.

You're not going to like Miles no matter what he does. I'm sure you were even bitching after the '07 championship because you haven't liked him since he got here. You're probably one of those idiots that was pissed after the Tennessee game and don't know how to let shite go.
