Well said, I'm from Plaquemines Parish as well and your assessment is right on. Cheers!

I'd rather a shitty family man, like Saban, who wins a lot of national titles. What difference if he is a family man, he's a football coach
there are no other Saban's out there and Miles is just as good

Agreed. I was just about to quote, and agree with your previous post as I read this.
By the specificity of your post, it should be clear to all the validity of your stated sources.
How people can't see that this man is more than his win/loss record eludes me.
Off the top of my head alone:
Kissing pigs and scaling buildings for charity
April fools joke in big cat drill/ also confetti wind vector changes due to stadium addition
Dancing with team to Harlem Shake
Video he made of basketball game with his family in response to svps shoe gift
Hilarious post bama game comments about hot girls walking in disrupting him
His guiltless admission of eating grass as a superstitious ritual
His unique loyalty to his staff, allowing them to save face by finding other work instead of being fired
The very entertaining post interview when a kick was returned last minute to put us over the top of ole miss
The passion in his defense of his team during the have a nice day interview before the sec champ game in 07
His enraged and protective defense of media members calling out Russell Shepard.
The ole miss 4 minute left mercy kneel
Countless more
This guy doesn't just teach 105 kids football a year. He is a symbol of much more.
He does not cater to the media, in fact, he sometimes openly trolls them.
When dirtbag bobby Petrino told him to F off during the post game shake, miles slyly smiled it off. When Dooley ran off the field without shaking miles hand during the wild Tennessee game, miles chased him down to shake his hand.
He is who he is, openly and with pride. That person is a great family man, he is honest, passionate, and openly flawed. And what's crazy is, he is ok with coming off flawed.
It gives everyone else the permission to follow suit and not care what people say when your heart is in the right place. He rolls with the punches, keeps his head about him, falls on the sword for his players/staff, and is the definition of class in a world where that trait becomes more and more scarce by the day.
He wins where it really counts, in life.

I love having les as our coach!!!! Not scarf to say it. You other fks are freaking crazy sorry. I mean serious issues if you do not see how he has stabilized our program. He leaves and we will go through what Tennessee is going through now.

The only program I know of that had three highly successful coaches in a row was UA back in the day with Scott, Wade and Thomas...so that is a distinct possibility.

I once posted a laundry list of why the negas don't like miles. A while back.....not digging that crap up again. Why you people start these threads and then crucify ppl who don't share your views is pathetic.... But hey if it helps you sleep.
Bottom line: I didn't like the hire from the get go. He's done well while he has been here...as well as we could have done given the talent we've had??? Meh.... That's up for debate. He's not going anywhere. If/when he wins another NC, he gets a free pass for life as far as I'm concerned.
I'm glad he's a great guy/family man but this is a big business not a father-of-the-year contest.

I love the man. I agree with most everyone in this thread.
Just take a look after each game and watch the opponents players walk over and shake CLM's hand. He's a hellava man
Let's go win another one coach

Then by your standards of big business, many of LSU's powerful and rich boosters have chosen to keep him around for ten years.
He has the respect, and paycheck from successful men of big business.
But you know better than they do?
Sounds like you do not quite understand the paradigm with which you judge him

So you can post your negative opinion about Miles, but I can't post my opinion on you?
So your opinion is the only one that counts?
You're thinking "you've beaten me at my own game."
I'm thinking "you were never even a player."

How do people on the rant get away with personal attacks of people who have a different opinion
your opinion is your opinion of a man.
your opinions are a reflection of your self-worth.
if so, well, your opinion of yourself is very low.
probably a learned behavior from how your father held you in such low self esteem.
you could feel better about yourself by just looking for the positive in others.
my opinion is an opinion of a man.
my opinion of you is that you have a very low opinion of yourself and that is reflected in how you see others.

I didn't say I know better than anybody did I? I answered the OPs question honestly. I'm sorry if that offends your sensibilities but quite frankly IDGAF.
He's paid a butt load of $ to compete for NCs. We've won one in his tenure. That's good. Let's see him do it again and he will silence all his detractors.

BJJ.....you are so completely, utterly full of shite it's beyond comical. You're starting to believe your own hype. Good grief son....give it a rest with your misguided psycho-babble.

2014 then. I'm not buying the 'we'll be set in 2015/2016'. Looking at the other contenders they have the same issues as we do and, as of right now, I see no reason this coming season why we shouldn't vie for ATL and the CFP as well as anyone else.

Les is a great coach and recruiter. He seems to be genuinely a good person, he has had a few hiccup's along the way but who hasn't. with that being said all those people with saban's nuts in their mouths Les never loss to UAB! Les runs a clean program and wins the right way! Saban on the other hand runs a semi pro team with a payroll higher than the saints, and he had to back into 2 NC games!!

Don't jump on my case for disliking les miles
LSU since 05 leads all BCS schools in wins and that's a statement that could have never been said at any other time in LSU's history of college football.
Anyone "LSU fan" disliking the HC who has guided LSU to a remarkable achievement of that nature is suffering from a serious case of SEC/college football mental retardation. imo

quote: he's slowly becoming a national icon
This couldn't be further from the truth, I live in the south but not in Louisiana, every single time I tell people I'm an LSU fan the other person laughs their arse off, tells me how much of a loser, douchbag bag les miles is.
That doesn't happen a few times, every time 100 percent.
Is that what a national icon is
I call bullshite on this ....I work and communicate with a bunch of people from around the southeast and at first I was very surprised that other teams fans (mostly sec) have so much respect for clm .... even though I get a lot of ribbing from other fans about lsu ,I find that almost all of them respect clm and hate playing lsu because they know it will be a tough game ....
the people who hate clm are dumb frick lsu fans like you and I think you made that stupid shite up.....

quote:In my [very thin] book it is ok for LSU fans to expect more of CLM (like more NC's) and even dislike the man. But to dislike him because he is not Saban, or to sound like an AR fan in their description of him, is going a bit beyond the norm.
