There is certainly one guy we feel the most confident in who does all the things we ask of our quarterback." Sounds like Jennings is winning.
Sounds to me that the guy least capable of leading this team is doing exactly what les wants him to do. Why would he praise Harris and have him run 2nd team? Or is it a problem with Harris and maybe a bad attitude? In which case speaks volumes about the ability of Les' recruiting a QB, a position that calls for leadership and ability to keep defenses honest by actually have the ability to pass the ball.

Cam and Les need to coach up Harris, not continue making reasons or blaming Harris. Cam and Les are paid well to teach these young men, so get it done Les and Cam. You recruited theses guys, now do you job and coach them up.

Miles has shown in the past that he will always go with the better QB, the one who gives LSU the best chances of winning. No matter how unpopular that decision is with the dumbass portion of the fan base who may be in love with a particular QB.

Lot riding on Harris, and he has the potential to put points on the board given the offensive attributes he has to work with.
But Les has nothing to worry about. If this season doesn't work out, he'll just fire some more coaches and bring in some new ones. Life's a bich if you ain't the head coach, at LSU.

My thoughts:
1) Miles and Cameron desperately want Harris to step up and win the job. Desperately
2) They are not going to give Harris the job--he will have to drop his nuts and take it.
3) Harris has the much higher ceiling, but--as bad as he was--Jennings probably has the higher floor. And if he can improve just a little bit, we'll be competitive in all our games.
4) Yes, '08 fricked Les relative to QBs. It's why he never trusted Lee again, even 3 years afterward. He shite his pants against Bama in '11 and Les remembered he was a mental midget.
5) Les did not love JJ. On the contrary, I bet he scared him to death. He just scared him a little less than Jarrett Lee did.
6) Contrary to popular(albeit dumb-as-all-frick)"logic", Jennings can get better. To think he's peaked as a true Sophomore is ab-fricking-surd. His ceiling is not high, but it's high enough to be successful. It's certainly as high as the Lee/Jefferson '11 tandem.
7) practice actually fricking matters. I know a lot of you(Maximus) think practice means nothing("practice, we talkin' bout practice?"), but practice is where coaches--and more importantly teammates--realize who they can count on. If I can't count on you in practice, I damn sure can't count on you in games.
8) I want Harris to win the job. We NEED Harris to win the job. But if he doesnt, that is 100% on him. There is no conspiracy to keep him away from the starting Quarterback position if he's deserving. If you think there is, I'm sorry you're that fricking stupid. Prayers sent.
9) We can reach our zenith if Harris's balls drop and he owns the QB position. We could be unreal. But if he doesnt, and Jennings improves like a normal 2nd year- 3rd year progression, we can still win the West, win the SEC, and win the whole goddammit thing. If you don't think so, if you think we'll ever lose less than 5 games with Jennings, then frick YOU! You are a shite fan and I will fight you to prove it lol.
10)
Bookmarked. Because

Exactly. They brought the kid in. It is their responsibility to get his young azz coached up.....at least to a point where he can go in periodically and adequately run some variation of our vanilla offense.
Harris is obviously not totally without blame. He needs to step up and do his part.
But I refuse to believe that he was SO unprepared at the end of the season that he couldnt come in and mop up or get some amount of snaps in each game.
It would have been different if AJ was setting the world on fire.

Does he ask his quarterback to:
- complete passes
- look at 2nd and 3rd receivers
Apparently not.
We're screwed. Jordan Jefferson II era. Get ready.

That comment just saved me $1500 of season tickets I WILL NOT be renewing. 2-3 years of Jordon Jefferson is enough for one lifetime.

"Jennings probably has the higher floor. And if he can improve just a little bit, we'll be competitive in all our games. "
Jennings has been in the system 3 years and has shown zero improvement. He was tabbed as "a student of the game. Knows football. Spends time in the film room" And all of this has translated to a below average QB, much less SEC caliber QB..

Hopefully you do a little more research because the OP pulled that comment from his arse. Nobody had been able to find anywhere that Les said this.
This thread should be deleted, other than Hot Carl's post.

This will be Jennings 3rd year.

He enrolled early for spring as a freshman. 2, 3 or 10 years, he still has shown very little improvement. Nothing against the young man, but I'd like to see a top notch QB.

QBs improve most from Year 2-3. We haven't seen Year 3 yet.

You tell me this how is it giving up on games by putting in the QB with more potential... You fricking clowns act like if Harris had finished out the season he would have been complete trash.... WHICH JENNINGS WAS... There was no where to go but up from
Jennings play... And to comment on not getting your qb playing time because it could affect there game in the long run.... What exactly are the coaches doing with Jennings genius..... They are sticking him in there sticking it out with him....

Don't believe what I said about Jennings hurting his game in the run look at the Ark game or the Ole miss game or the New Mexico game or the Mississippi state game.....

Its pretty obvious to (almost) everyone that Jennings is a stop-gap solution until Harris is ready.
