But what frickin sense did it make to imply that someone who'd never taken a single snap at the college level was comparable to Adrian Peterson.

Plenty when it's true. That was said when he was in high school compared to A P'S measurable s.

LF is for real.. What wud they be writing if he fumbles ? His focus was positive gains and ball security. Don't need to do too much. That's my guess as to how the coaches approached him about his first game. CLM is happy and he should be. KH n LF will be the go to hacks. Magee in on passing downs with maybe some designed plays to the flats n screens to get him some touches.

Fournette may be for real. But miles is guilty of hyping him up. Anyone who denies that has blinders on

Again, Fournette was a superstar phenom for YEARS before Miles could even SAY HIS NAME IN PUBLIC.

Youtube highlight reels with millions of views, #1 overall recruit, HS games on ESPN, Sports Illustrated and Sportscenter features, Nike Open, UA All American Game, 5for5, Buga Nation.......all of these things happened years and months before Miles could ever even SAY HIS NAME IN PUBLIC.

Fournette would have had the same hype from any fanbase, coaching staff, and media market he decided to play for.

Anyone who credits Miles for "hyping him up" surely doesn't follow recruiting and isn't even much of a CFB fan in general tbh.

Miles has been overly cautious and cryptic about LF as he is about most topics to the media.

The Jordan reference was talking about the drive and self motivation to succeed that he's seen in LF that seems exceptional for a freshman phenom.

Anyone claiming that quote was Miles "hyping" him as some Heisman favorite type star week 1 was either ignorant as to the context of the response, or doesn't understand the English language.

That "writer" clearly falls into one of those two groups.

Had this same discussion on Tigalaya this week. It's the fans and the sports writers who took Miles words and ran with them. He said LF had the confidence of MJ, not that he was MJ

He didn't start the hype. And let's put some context into the AP comparison. AP rushed for exactly 100 yards his first college game against Bowling Green. That's right powerhouse bowling green. LF will be fine more than fine.

I hate some of our fans just as much as I hate the stupid, obviously biased media moron that wrote the article.

I'm sorry but you are incorrect!

On Broadcast with his face and from his mouth LF said:
My goal is All-SEC, All-American and Heisman Trophy Candidate!

I did not hear any other LSU running backs or wide receivers say that this year!

The Hype has crashed and burned!

What a dumbass. I said Les Miles did not create the hype. Did not say shite about what LF said.

I like how the writer basically said "to be fair if you read miles quote in the proper context he doesnt say LF is the next MJ" but frick it that makes for a shitty article.

Hype, especially unfounded hype, makes the world go round...and round.

I'd be willing to bet LF himself would welcome a reprieve from all the 3 heismans in 3 years talk.

I don't think the fans overall doubt he'll eventually be the beast predicted, but rather just one sub-group is actually responsible for all the silly early hype.

Just my opinion here, but I think Les was telling BUGA nation to relax, in of course his unique way.

THIS.

The hype, and comparisons to Adrian Peterson, and the interest in Fournette, was there, WAY before he even signed with LSU.

Imagine if he signed with Bama. He'd already have been awarded a Heisman probably.

Has been the best running back in the intrasquad scrimmages. When he settles down and gets some reps- he will move the world.
