Say what you want about Miles, but with 30 seconds left, one timeout, down by 4, and at the 1 yard line, Miles runs the ball. He might have let the clock run down to 3 seconds before he got the play off, but he runs the ball.

The only problem Miles would have the wrong running back, like he did against Bama, first and goal from the 6, he runs the ball, only problem the person (Fournette) who should have been running the ball was standing next to Miles on the sidelines and watching MaGee get stuffed.

Miles runs the ball predictably not effectively because everyone knows AJ cannot pass... and we call it "pro-style" (1990), under center, I formation, big boy, smashmouth, up the gut, concussion ball, using RBs like wrecking balls.
Our season turned in the first Qtr of the Miss State game when Miles ran 4 times from the 1 yd line into a brick wall from the I formation and ended up on the 4. Miles ran the ball, 25% more this year and for 300 more yds than last year and scored 50% fewer TDs. Scoring efficiency, pts/play and pts/min were last in the Sec/nation with two rushing TDs in the last 5 games.

it's only a mistake if the play doesn't work. if the play works it's a brilliant call.
it has always been this way and always will be. it is so much easier to sit on the sideline and critisize than to actually be the one that makes the call.
