Miles was asked how Randle & Shepard are progressing. Said Randle coming along well & deserves to be on field. He needs to be a little quicker in some things he does though. Said Shepard is getting better every day at running, throwing, recieving. Shep will take part in lots of plays where he is QB and some where he doesn't even touch the ball.

Miles talked about defense. Said Nevis, Woods, Alexander had as good as camp as he's seen. At DE, Pep and Alem will start w/ Edwards, Clement and Agyere (sp) will play. Cutrera, Kelvin and Riley are good, forgot Coleman then came back to say he's in position to play great. Miles "likes the defense". I would hope so.

Miles said players have taken to Chavis and Chavis has great personality.

You must mean Genghis Khan, which according to wikipedia can also be pronounced as chinggis... "It is likely that the 13th century Mongolian pronunciation would have closely matched Chinggis."

Miles was asked if he did anything differently in preseason this year to avoid another lackluster season. He said "Yeah".

That kid sounded like a fool asking that.

Asked about artificial grass in Tiger Stadium and would they consider it. Miles said prefers grass and field is still young and they are trying to make matting a little thicker. Expects it to get better and better. Held up nicely for 2 a days. He can't imagine artificial turf in stadium.

Also asked about the band not going to UW originally and if he was upset about original decision to notsend band. He said he definitely wanted band at the game and so did team.

Miles said Morris Claiborn is wonderful addition to team, general praise etc. Said they tried him at reciever and now he is at corner and is in the 3 deep and may see a lot of time. Miles is not certain he will stay on defense.

Asked about special teams. Said looks forward to Trindon and Brooks taking kicks back (they are your returners) and looked forward to trindon returning punts.

Jim asked him about SEC West and Miles said he didn't want to discuss any school but Washington.

Asked what is the earliest Loston could play. Said they will not hold Loston out. His abilities may allow Loston to take snaps against Washington.

Show ended with Miles saying they will be preparing hard for Washington.

Just called Ghenhis Khan "chengas".

Pretty sure that was the actual pronunciation. He's a smart guy.

Ghenghis put together the largest empire the world has ever seen. That's pretty big hype for a football team.

Did anyone catch the guy asking Les Miles if he was doing anything different this year to improve from last years' record and to avoid another 7-5 season

I guess he didn't hear about our new defensive coordinator

I wonder what these coaches are thinking when they get asked s*** like that

McCray caused very few of LSU problems last year. Just because he was the nearest guy to open receivers doesn't mean it was his fault they were open. For example, at the beginning of the Florida game, McCray did his job perfectly on short coverage, but Curtis Taylor must have been getting a hot dog on that play...he had deep responsibility and never came over. Just because someone is standing near a dead body doesn't mean they shot the person.
