When asked, he could simply say we like Ridley and Blue, and not mention Ford playing at all
But then someone this board would say that he is not responding to the question as truthfully and completely as they would like.

But some of us are looking a month down the road... Remember when Scott burned out in 2008? Reports were he was tired at the end of the season, and fizzled out until the bowl game.
Two different backs. Scott struggled when he couldn't plow through the line. Ridley is much more shifty and has a better first cut than Scott.

You are probably right! But it may settle the anxiety of Ford's lack of playing time.

He always "wants" to do stuff, and "means" to do stuff. He is the goddamn head coach, why doesn't he just do it?

something to keep in mind for you Ford lovers..
last 2 weeks at miles' pressers he basically avoided questions about ford. this time he makes a point to bring it up. maybe i'm dumb but i would actually expect ford to get some snaps this week.

They have been waiting for WVU to unleash the beast!
Who knows. Have to believe Miles was getting Ford's attention for something we are unaware of (grades, etc).

Ridley can only run so much
Ridley = good back, but needs a spell HB
Murphy = hurt
Blue = mr fumbles
Ford = built, shifty, good vision
He might have a keiland Williams va tech game..
Then gets benched for the rest of the season

See my previous post. Why can't you just understand that the game didn't line up for putting Ford in as he sees it? You guys act like if he says that he should run him out on the 2nd play.

It is pointless to make attempts to decipher anything Miles says, whether it be by design or lack of communication skills.
The West Virginia game should tell us all we need to know regarding the backs.
Blue's fumble wasn't his only faux pas in the game. By itself, it was almost as careless as Ridley's last one in the Carolina game. But, he also missed a critical blocking assignment on a blitz. I do like the way he runs, but he has to tuck the ball a little better than the way he did in his last two carries.
Ridley badly missed the hole on two plays that more than likely would have resulted in big gains. He also went the wrong way once, causing JJ to scramble for a few yards.
I really don't know where Ford stands with the staff, but if he doesn't play next week, after what we've seen thus far, it's safe to say he doesn't fit into our future plans at all.
I expect Ware to redshirt, and this disappoints me, but with this staff, I'm not sure how I let that happen.

"I think you'll see more of Michael Ford. I keep saying that and I mean it. I'd like to get Ford on the field."
Could this possibly be something like," We haven't been able to play Ford, who is a great talent... ( for non-talent reasons, such as behavior.. or grades... who knows..)... but now those things (whatever it is) are clearing up, and you SHOULD be seeing more of him".
this statement could have been directed to Ford as much or more than it actually was to the press, IMO.

Which is nuts
Miles was bragging about this kid the whole off season.

What's so hard to understand about that?
Lacking in the reading/comprehension skills department?

He can "want" to play a really good talent, but maybe the kid won't go to class, or causes some other sort of trouble... then he "can't" go ahead and play this kid until the trouble (or injury, or migraines, or WHATEVER..) is cleared up.
I certainly don't get to do everything in my life the way I WANT to.. other people and things tend to have some effect on my ability to always get things the way I WANT them...

Ware played against Vandy, and had a very nice catch on a wheel route. However, someone on this board mentioned that he sprained his MCL or some injury like that and that the coachs might look to get him a medical redshirt i.e. Craig Loston last year.

and maybe ford took that and went too far. so now miles had to catch himself and put ford back into his place.
or maybe he didnt fit into the gameplan.
or maybe ford got sick and couldnt perform at peak performance.
or maybe he doesnt know the playbook.
or maybe ford is shy of crowds.
who knows?

All the talk about the running back is pointless we actually don't look bad running the ball, it's the passing game that has me concerned, sure the passes were better but all of them are stop routes, I want to see the ***** (5 Star) recievers catch the ball on the run......If they executed what they practiced LSU doesn't stand a chance when the get to the meat of the schedule...Stop routes won't do anything but stop drives...It would be great to see Shep, Toliver, and Randle catch a ball instride and take it to the house....
