Losing RP was bigger than anyone could imagine and it was the right decision made by Les. We basically lost our starting QB for the year, but have performed well considering.

I have been upset with the defense this year and feel like the Co-DC thing was not the best decision. But, I thought that the coaching yesterday by Coach Miles and staff was right on target. The defense played great. He couldn't pull Lee. The upside was too high and Jefferson was going to be redshirted just a few weeks ago. JJ wasn't even in the mix until Hatch got hurt and was our 3rd string QB as a TRUE FRESHMAN.

Think about this: When Coach Miles cut Ryan Perriloux, he knew what was behind him. Yet, he did it anyway for the sake of the program. Few coaches with a top 5 team would have done that. If he had kept RP, LSU would likely be 8-1 right now and would be in the top 5 and in serious discussion for a return to the BCS Title game. Instead, he does the right thing. I respect that.

He's won over 80% of his games and is bringing in top recruiting classes. Tiger fans might not realize this, but Miles gained a lot of credibility after that game yesterday. If USC or Texas had lost Sanchez or McCoy, everyone would be making excuses. Could you imagine Georgia's record without Stafford? They've lost TWO games with him and they were the #1 team in the country. They should have lost to us and Kentucky giving them 4 LOSSES after starting the season #1. When will Richt receive criticism? Losing Perriloux was HUGE and it cannot be underestimated. Despite not being consistent on offense, we have also put our defense in bad situations all year.

Have patience, guys. We will rebound.

He is a great guy and WAS doing a great job getting great coaches around him. He failed at that part this year. He is not a great coach. above average but not great.

Also, enough with RP. That shite for brains would not have made it past half the year if Miles had kept him thus making it much much worse. Miles should have kicked that dumbass off the team a long time ago.

Well then, for you, what/who would make a great coach?

I think Miles is the McCain/Palin of coaches. I don't agree with his decisions all of the time but by gosh he's a maverick.

I think he was 100% right in the way he handled RP. That was a solid non-mavericky decision.

Thanks, I planned to post a similar message.

How many other coaches would have kicked RP off the team? I think not many at all. The kid was the no. 1 qb in his class (next to Sanchez that is), and was primed to do well this year. He put his team - and yes, it was for the good of the team - above all else, especially his own career.

Not to mention, look at the O line he has assembled. They ran the ball down Bama's throat. Bama was holding everyone, then along came LSU.

I like Miles' approach and philosophy. Our lines, O and D, are stacked for years to come. Both are the strenght of any team. He's a stand-up man, coach and is a damn strong recuiter.

One who puts the best talent on the field regardless of classification. Look at what has happened to Peterson. Can you imagine if Scott and KW played more instead of Hester last year. One who is smart enough to see a problem early and worry about the future of the program rather than the present(RP). One who always surrounds himself with great coaches, SPECIALLY when he isnt a wizard on any side of the ball. A guy who can go out and recruit regardless of where the program is(will see in a few years, maybe next). A person who know what heck is going on at all times on the field(clock management).

Miles is not a smart guy. His clock management is HORRIBLE. His stubbornness or maybe loyalty has gotten in the way of a hiring a great DC. Sometimes loyalty is good, sometimes it is bad. It is knowing which times are the good and bad.

The timeout before the challenge was definately odd.

You're right. Dumb guys get hired to coach major D-1 programs all the time.

Seriously, thats just stupid.

What has happened to Peterson? He's a true freshman and is constantly on the field and is playing great.

Hester was incredible last year and we'd love to have him this year. He's playing in the NFL right now.

Every coach makes some mistakes. You don't want a great coach, you want a perfect coach.

Les has proven that he is able to recruit. We'll see about the DC position, but I'm willing to give him some time. They have performed much better the last few weeks and were outstanding against Alabama, a team that Georgia didn't have an answer for.

Would you rather have Mark Richt over Miles? He is the biggest underachiever in the conference. Saban, ok, I can see that. But, Miles has still done better than Saban did here.

Why does every other team get to have a down year, but if LSU, with a freshman QB struggles, it's the end of the world and the program is in decline? Ohio St. isn't setting the world on fire. Weren't they a preseaon top 5 team? Oh, look - they've got a freshman QB who is being praised for 170 total yards.

If he was such a great coach, he would be getting with Crowton and helping create a more vanilla offense for the time being. We have so many playmakers and all we have to do is get it in their hands, rather it be reverses, screens, whatever. Instead we are running deep balls and stupid deep slants. He should also be lighting a fire under our DC's through the media. Throw those guys under the bus, dont say they are doing a good job. They arent. Our tackling is terrible and our covering before Sat was just as bad.

The ENTIRE staff is doing a piss poor job this year.

I do agree that our tackling is terrible. Might be the worst in the country, and there is no excuse for that.
