Yeah, I read the 16 year olds reply. Travis is reeeallly reaching to try and stir up the Bammers on this one.

I wouldn't exactly call it destroying a heckler but it is classic Les, disarming the situation with an unexpected comment or reaction.

Like with that dick Petrino, it's classy, and a subtle frick off at the same time, to not let them get under your skin.

full comment for those not searching down in the comments. This article is really reaching. Agree with MasonTiger here.

First of all I was there and am on the last part of the video saying “Roll Tide” and “good luck coach.” The cheers were all in fun, nothing negative was said to Coach Miles except for Roll Tide (which is a phrase that can be used in any situation.) None of those fans were on vacation from Alabama, all of them live in NYC or NJ and most are a part of the UA Alumni NYC Chapter. The young man that was wearing the hounds-tooth hat is 16 years old and was part of a group there to support Trent. Most of the guys in the group are a part of 15 high school athletes that I had the privilege to lead from New Jersey to Tuscaloosa, AL this past August to volunteer for a week in the tornado relief/rebuilding effort. In the process they fell in love with the southern culture and Alabama football. While in Tuscaloosa they were guest at a Bama practice and got to meet Trent Richardson, Coach Saban and other players who came over after practice and thanked them for serving Tuscaloosa. That is why they took the train over from Jersey last night, to show support for Trent.

There was a large group outside the Best Buy Theater prior to the ceremony from Stanford, Baylor, and a few from Wisconsin to show their support for their candidates. Alabama had the largest crowd. We only saw one guy with a LSU hat on, so unfortunately there was no support for Tyrann Mathieu. Each player stopped by their respective group of fans and thanked them for their support, except for the Honey Badger, because there was no one to thank.

It was a cool thing Coach Miles did in shaking the guys hands and the “nice hat” comment, but it was not in anyway negative, we thought it was funny. Our guys loved it. I respect Coach Miles because of what he said after they beat Bama in Tuscaloosa when he was asked about a possible rematch, he said he “would be honored to play these guys again”.

It is bad enough for all the gumps to shake their pom poms at BDS, but to bring them to the sidewalks of NYC is about as gay as it gets.

Most of them are NYC transplants. There were only about 3 LSU fans there....and I couldn't make it to the Best Buy Theater until 7pm (after everyone walked in), because I had dinner out in Queens.

After most everyone had walked inside, I got to go on the side of the barrier where Les was...walked in front of them. They quietly booooed me. I turned towards all of them, and I told them to boo louder as I was waving my flag in front of them.

I didn't have pictures, because I did it totally spur of the moment, and my friend was in shock I walked through them, and she didn't have her camera ready.

I did get a picture of Les walking out of the bldg and back through the gauntlet. Will need to post when I get the chance.

Baylor/Bama/Stanford alums that live in the city did a good job of supporting their candidates.

Did make good friends with some drunk old Auburn ladies visiting NYC. We were hassling every Alabama fan in sight at the end of the night. (I know, real classy).

Why? You think LSU fans wouldnt do the same to saban? Just seemed like fans having fun, Miles shakes a kids hand and thats it.

Great article...and I loved HB's suit, it was classic 7th Ward N.O., it was tyrannium, that's what allows him to reenter the earth's atmosphere without burning up...

I'm sure we'd have done the same to the little fella. But I betcha the midget's reaction would've been just a tad different.
