We need pictures in a compromising situation. Maybe we can just use photoshop.

Clearly Gary already has them in his possession.

Was it ever put to a vote by the BOSs'? If not it is not binding.

When a coach is fired they don't get til the end of their contract. Not that I'm saying he will be or should be.

I'm wondering who this source is. My understanding is that the University President hast o sign off on it. It would truly surprise me if Lombardi agreed to this.

Ummmm.. it is not up to the Chancellor so I don't see how O'keefe had the authority to do this. The President has to do this and only after its been approved by the board of supervisors. Their meeting minutes are available to the public, and not once since April 2008 (when Les got his raise) has his contract been amended.
Sounds like some idiots just acting like they have a source.
It runs through 2012.

Sean O'Keefe extended it before leaving:
Wow, that O'keefe guy was really sharp to lock down Les for us.

You think he's done a bad job?

The problem with firing him is that you have to pay him the money that his contract says, which was the problem last year. I hear that we can get/have the money to get him out of LSU, but who knows

I think Les will never again achieve excellence. There are many informed people who believe that he lacks the many key attributes such as 'attention to details' necessary to sustain excellence.
He makes bad decisions such as Malveto and sticking with Crowton & JJ. He is inarticulate and represents LSU poorly in the public eye. He has yet to prove that his early success was attribute to anything other than inheriting a terrific roster with discipline and mental toughness instilled by his predecessor.
Other programs have or are bypassing LSU (Bama, UF, AU is on the rise as is Arkansas). We have a two game losing streak to Ole Miss. We should have a three game losing streak to Arkansas. The trend is not good.
We can sustain mediocrity for a while but we aren't paying $4,000,000 for mediocrity

Here is the one comment on that article:
"Do you ever actually try to get your facts straight? Your source is full of it. O'Keefe isn't the one to grant Miles' extensions. It's the LSU Board of Supervisors and the University President. In none of their meeting minutes, which is available to the public, has Miles' contract been amended since April 2008 when he got his raise for winning the NC.
Since you're supposed to be journalists, have you ever thought of actually, I don't know, doing real research?"
As someone said before, O'keefe could not have done this.

The "source" must have been SFP.

I sent an e-mail to the LBOS, who should have LM's contract on file asking about the process that I needed to go through in order to request a document they have on file at the office.
I got response back telling me to call them and talk to them about it.
Anyway, if I get bored, maybe I'll give them a call. But if anybody else wants to go through the hoopla of retrieving the contract just let me know. I'll e-mail the information I got.

Bill King reporting this morning that Miles' contract automatically rolls over every year he earns 8 wins, and that his buy-out was currently sitting at $18 mil.
