For two years this program has dominated every aspect of nearly every game, with the lone exception of the most important position on the field. It’s not a stretch to say that the quarterback spot—specifically Jefferson and Lee—prevented LSU from winning national championships in 2010 and 2011. Matt Hayes-Sporting News I agree with this statement. The question is, "Will CLM use the passing game to make the LSU offense nearly impossible to defend?" I have my doubts.
Did we really need ANOTHER thread about this?

Some things never go out of style. Given the monumental melt down in the NCG, I am curious to see how CLM utilizes Mett. Again, maybe last year was a once in a millennium confluence of QB strangeness, but I can't get it out of my head.

Because we don't play UW every week. Dumb answer.

This is beside the main point. It in no way absolve CLM from the strange game plan of that night. Why not try JL and, of course, ZM?

I hope Les has learned from the debacle in the NC game. Although We have top qb in Mett, wither Les will use him is still a question. With our great running game, play action should be awesome. Some of u guy's are getting awful cocky but so far we haven't played any one yet. Wait till later in the season with T/A&M Usc,Fla. & Bama. then u will know how good we are!

Some do not seem to understand this point at all. Oh, try to avoid being reasonable on this board. It only irritates the natives.

I think you've brought a lot of this on yourself. You've been arrogant and condescending while questioning whether Coach Miles will ever let Mettenberger really throw the ball. You're so hung up on the NC game that you don't remember Jamarcus Russell slinging the ball around or even Flynn having some success throwing the ball while he was here. We have had some shitty QB play the last 4 years and I don't blame Miles for running the ball instead of passing. Is LSU going to throw the ball 50 times a game? No, and thank God we don't HAVE to.

Only in the minds of the college football mentally challeged is there a question bout whether or not LSU will use Mett in this seasons NCG if we are fortunate enough to reach that game.

9 months after the fact and 3 games into a brand new season we have some more interested in the L of the past season than success of the past, the success of the present, and possible success of the future, but they not negative thinkers....righttttt.

BTW...I didn't see any QB play last season or since RP left the team that came even close to "top qb" material. imo

Miles has always used his QB effectively especially when he has had a QBs that could perform. Did he handcuff Russell or Flynn?

Hell he even used his QBs effectively when he had bad QBs by playing to team strengths. Last year he made the best out of our QBs. There were 2 teams that made our QBs look foolish, one of them happened to beat us.

Agree completely which makes the lack of developing ZM last year all the more curious. This is not an attack of CLM. It is a reasonable question. If LSU beats the gumps 1/9 no one, esp me, says anything.

So if the Tigers go through a time warp to last January and beat Bama, you won't say anything. Gotcha.

Les and our Tigers are going to BLOW up SEC teams this year with a sharp passing game. Les is no dummy, we have to keep teams from lining up 8-9 in the box and waiting on the run or short pass. I dont think we will see the complete pass play book until USC or the Alabama game.
