please he wouldn't have even gotten there without the help of West Virginia. He lost two games to unranked teams the year he slipped into that national championship, and he hasn't even won the West since. Wake up people. He gets winning seasons because anyone that recruits that well will at least win nine games. But a GOOD coach that recruits that well will win conference and National Championships. Struggling to beat bad Tennessee and Florida teams should not be looked upon as good coaching. As a matter of fact it was downright bad coaching. ie see OLE MISS last year.

Every team needs a little luck to make it to the NC game. Les still had to beat OSU, and he did. Also, you can look at any coach's resume and find "bad" losses. Be careful for what you wish, my friend.

I don't think he's leaving but you got to have talent to win in college and LSU is loaded. If we get a good coach we'll win the SEC West next year.

Sorry but meyer chizik saban petrino all came in to "down" programs so their % is more impressive considering what they started with --Les was gifted a much better program from saban.

Everyone was negative about the future of the program when Saban left, we all thought the decline was going to begin upon his departure.

But think about it, our program is in better shape at this point then it was when Saban left. We have championship talent on the team and the state of Louisiana is going to continue to produce championship level talent. We just need a coach that runs a clean program and hires good people to keep around him. We'll be fine either way, although the ideal situation for me would be for Miles to stay and hire a new offensive coordinator.

I'm afraid he is leaving though, there were reports that Crowton was going to resign and I think he is delaying the resignation until the Miles situation is resolved. I think we just need to keep Frank Wilson and Tommy Moffet and maybe Chavis depending on who the new hire could potentially bring in.

I would say the new coach is going to be someone completely unexpected, someone that is off the radar that has not been mentioned. I honestly believe we could steal a big name from someone else if Alleva would show them the money but I'm afraid he is going to go cheap for an up and comer or take a chance on someone that is past their prime that he believes could potentially turn their career around again, like a Tuberville which I hope I am incorrect.

LSU has declined. They used to win SEC championships, now they consistently finish third in the west. That friends IS decline.

Pelini I think would be a terrible, terrible hire. Petersen, Kelly, or Patterson would be good ones -

We WILL NOT get one of these three, and I don't know how many of you trust Alleva to make a hire that isn't bordering on catastrophic, but I certainly don't. BP would be a terrible hire-zero interest or skill recruiting and a bombastic personality with the press, the fans and I suspect, the kid's families. IMO, much better suited as a high energy DC, not the boss man. The rest of the names being bandied about are outright scary-Leach? Ears? Petrino? Yikes.

I don't know his buy-out but I'd take Mullen. Maybe even Malzhan(SP?). I hope we can keep Chavis and get an offensive guy. Petrino wouldn't be a bad hire, but he has an 18 million, yes 18 million dollar buy-out this year. And Mike Gundy from Ok St would be ok with me.
That's the short list of hires that wouldn't send me into depression.

You must not have been a fan in the 90's.
I think a fan is fooling themselves if they honestly believe this. I would like to think that, but no program is untouchable.

The 90's did not follow the type of success that we have had the last 10 years not to mention Joe Dean will not be doing the hiring.

I'm just saying we have been spoiled the past ten years.
If we bring in a guy like Bo Pelini, I have no doubt our program will take a hit. No way he maintains the success on a level we want him to/are used to.

If les miles sticks around, and lsu has a bad season or lose to oregon...all of you lsu fans will be ready to once again run him out of baton rouge....i really feel that some of you get a real kick out of bashing les miles when he makes a bone head decision.....

LET HIM GO....

its wont be the end of the world if he leaves...

lsu was winning before he got here and will continue winning after he is gone......

Ok so the "LSU isn't invincible" argument doesn't stick with some of you. Who do you think we could bring in, that is actually gettable, that would be as good as CLM? Grudens not coming, Petersens not coming. Chip Kellys not coming. Who do you got? Not hating, just asking.

This is what I mean:

"Zach's relationship with Les Miles was a big reason for him deciding to go to LSU, but he signed with LSU not Les Miles."

He is not hated by most fans - just a few of the idiots hate a winner.

Wait and see, then support that coach. If you are old enough remember when LSU hired Saban. Everyone said "What". Cause LSU had beat him in the Independance bowl. Then we hired Myles and again people said "what". So whom ever they get stand behind him.
