Collins couldn't break into LF's room and steal his jock strap.

The lack of respect for Collins is shocking. He was a great RB in the short time he played. To say it doesn't matter or he doesn't matter is fricking stupid. You fricknuts never cease to speak dumb shite.

This. He's going to be one of those backs people talk about like Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Adrian Peterson, Earl Campbell, Ricky Williams, Tony Dorsett etc.

I saw Bo jackson in person, Herschel Walker in person and Barry Sanders in person. LF7 doesn't quite have the speed of Bo. He doesn't quite have the moves/vision of Barry Sanders. He doesn't quite have the speed of Bo. But I promise he's got a combination that the three of them each wish they had...

Yep. Shame on us for disrespecting a convicted sex offender who was caught masturbating outside the window of a couple's home.

Really? Respect a guy that played 3 flipping games and was a total dumpster fire off the field? Get real guy. Unreal

For those of you too young to have been there for Cecil Collins vs. Auburn, we felt the same about him afterwards that you feel for Fournette today. We were in awe. He had other world ability that was not measurable. LF is Cecil with good mental health. LF is truly amazing but to say Cecil wasn't is simply not true. Cecil just wasn't a good person, but he was a once in a few decades back like LF is.

Cecil Collins would've been the GOAT. No doubt in my mind.

I have never seen anyone even close to the moves and vision of Sanders

He is a piece of trash but let's be real, that has nothing to do with his athletic ability.

He had his chance in the NFL and had a pretty mediocre career

He could have been a great college player but he's not on Fournette's level

Fair enough. However, I've been looking at Collins' highlights this morning and LF is simply better- speed, power, vision, size. Collins was an unbelievable talent, but apples to apples, LF is just better.

During the G.D. era, Grid Iron members could go to practice and actually mingle with the players on the sidelines on some drills...I once met Collins right after he did an interview with a reporter...I felt uncomfortable in his presence...something eery about him, I thought at the time...something strange, but I couldn't put my finger on what it was...then when all the perversion and crime came out, it all fell into place...he had a problem background from early on in his childhood...seems to have gotten a handle on the demons as of late. As I do everyone struggling in this life, I wish him peace and happiness! jmho

Phil,

I've heard the same thing from multiple people- there was something vacant about the way Collins would interact with people.

I'm with you, I wish him the best and hope he can live a peaceful life.

This is a very good description of him. I was thinking during the entire game that Fournette looked like a slim downed version of Cecil.

Two very different backs. LF has all of the measurables- speed, size, etc. Collins was a whirlwind of churning legs, elbows, and forward motion that was consistent and uncanny. I think LF is amazing, but on 3rd and 3 Collins is my guy. Also, we're seeing Fournette blossom in his second year. Collins was amazing on his first carry. No telling what he could have developed into if he wasn't a total weirdo.
