I'm sorry...I've only read on here for YEARS that you were the best thing since sliced bread when it came to any athletic endeavor at LSU...that you would know what to do in every single event of any game and that you could always do it better.

Constructive criticism doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being able to "do it" better. People write about the President all the time but they can't be the President.

2007 we vaulted to the bcs title game bc he DID have a quality back up, where as oregon, wvu, and others faded when starting qb went down.

that's the difference between LSU and WV/Oregon

and we are less reliant on the QB than those teams. Dixon was the Heisman winner and Pat White is one of the all-time best option QBs in NCAA history

Quit being a drama queen.

i could have called a time out a lot quicker after third down. I could have had the FG team ready to go on the field after the 4th down play. I could have sent my FG team on the field after the 4th down play...

DJ Mccarthy was a solid recruiting option to replace monken, however he's a horrible coach and needs to learn how to follow rules better
would love to know about this....

6.5 for game prep is too high. The bowl game constitutes 1 game in 12 every year. The week to week SEC grinders are the ones he never knows how to prepare for.

utter failure from almost day 1

miles tried to call a timeout after an interception against UTenn in 2005. /argument

This to me is his ultimate downfall and though few will admit it - it was evident from day 1. He just got lucky. 2007 and the NC were the luckiest year for a coach I have ever witnessed in my life. Also, our talent level was pretty stunning, too.

That probably folds into your argument about the recruiting. Since that 2007 season our talent lead on the rest of the SEC appears to have faded to the point that winning games is going to come down to the game day coaching - Miles' weakest point.

If you were the coach LSU wouldn't have had any points and given up 60!!! This is what I am trying to say.

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't have a beef with Robinson. Seems like our STs have been really good under him.

Good analysis, SFP, but I think you are giving him too much credit in the recruiting/development category. I'd put him around 6 in recruiting and about 2 in development, for an overall average of 4 in that area. And I realize 2.0 is pretty low on a scale up to 10, but where in the hell does he even earn 2.0 in game management? Giving him a zero in that category is overrating him, but it's the lowest possible, so it's the closest to being accurate.

yeah our 2005 and 2006 classes are pretty barren

and now meyer has had time to build his program

saban is around

UTenn has a super recruiting staff

AU has a solid recruiting staff

the talent of coaching and recruiting ability of the SEC has improved around miles in his time here

we can't return a punt against BCS schools and our punting has been so-so

our kicking game has been developed well though, so i guess that's harsh

They said last night TH has the highest punt return average in the SEC. Unless they were mistaken, everyone else must suck as well.

Yeah, punting is up and down. Shitty this year.

In most situations, the truthful answer to this question, when asked of any fan, is "no". In this one, however, the truthful answer is that ANYONE could have done better. Letting 20 seconds run off the clock after the 3rd down play before using the timeout was absolutely inexcusable. The fact that he has consistently mismanaged the clock at the ends of games means it was not just one isolated mistake.
